Massive performance issues with new Nvidia drivers

Featured Replies

I recently upgraded to 353.06 on the GTX780 and P3D 2.5 and had poor performance. I was able to fix this by clearing the [DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780.0.0] from the P3D.CFG and also clearing the Shades cache and allowing it to be rebuilt the next time the app was started.

\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\FSX

or

\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\LockheedMartin\P3D

Now I am getting the same performance as 347.88.

Dude, like...dude...I tried what you described...It doubled my FPS in P3D, no joke. I even maxed out EVERY SINGLE setting to see if I was dreaming...nope, it dropped 1 FPS when I did that.

No joke, deleting the duplicate display lines and the Shader folder took me from 20FPS at LAX in the PMDG 737 to 40 fps. Fingers crossed!

I actually have been staying away from add-on airports for that exact reason....lets see what happens!

Cheers!

Glad to hear it Brian. As a general rule of thumb I always remove the display lines after a Driver update, monitor change, etc. I also blow away the Shader folder when ever I make a NI, Nvidia CP, FS Graphical change, or Driver upgrade.

I dare to say new driver, same goddamn s**t. Installed new 353.30 and still 5fps in dx10, GPU behaves like it's taking a nap. It's driving me nuts.

Tried this in FSX but to no avail :(
