June 14, 201510 yr I'm happy with the way the dynamicfriction lua works- makes taxiing and maintaining a respectable and stable speed more on par with what I experience in the real world. In any case, it's not that compatible with certain aircraft- is there a way to make the dynamicfriction.lua active with certain aircraft, and use FSX default friction for other aircraft? February 22, 20179 yr Wanthuyrjust add[Auto]1=Lua DynamicFrictionto the appropriate profiles.ini & remove from the main fsuipc.ini but leave the lua itself in the modules folder. for now, cheers john martin
February 22, 20179 yr No one? Hello, you can check this topic http://www.avsim.com/topic/469891-lua-dynamic-frictions/ Cheers Hoang Le /I just know it by reading this topic, which I was surprised I have missed this function for many years! February 22, 20179 yr Author Yep, that's how I did it in P3D as well, for the king airs and the MD11! Brendan R, KDXR PHNL KJFK Type rated: SF34 / DH8 (Q400) / DC9 717 MD-88/ B767 (CFI/II/MEI/ATP) Majestic Software Q400 Beta Team / Pilot Consultant / Twitter @violinvelocity
February 23, 20179 yr Wanthuyr just add [Auto] 1=Lua DynamicFriction to the appropriate profiles.ini & remove from the main fsuipc.ini but leave the lua itself in the modules folder. Would I have to create a profile for each aircraft I fly? Currently I don't use any profiles, don't know to what extension it's gonna be a complex process, but I'm going to take a look. Thanks! February 23, 20179 yr Wanthuyri recommend using profiles if you have varying needs / assignments etc. for different aircraft (types or specific).it is not a complex process & is well documented in the "advanced user guide" of the latest version in particular. for now, cheers john martin
February 23, 20179 yr Author Oh yes- I'm sorry I took that for granted. You will need to have a profile for each of the aircraft you want to specifically use the dynamic friction tweak for. In P3D, in the FSUIPC.ini [LuaFiles] 1=DynamicFriction [Auto.PMDG MD11] 1=Lua DynamicFriction further down... [Profile.PMDG MD11] 1=PMDG MD11 P3D Lufthansa // (each livery is assigned a number) [buttons.PMDG MD11] 0=P0,0,C65580,0 -{AP_MASTER}- 1=P0,6,C65860,0 -{AUTO_THROTTLE_ARM}- 2=P1,4,C65861,0 -{AUTO_THROTTLE_TO_GA}- 3=R0,1,C1001,0 -{PTT Transmit On (SB3,RW,AVC)}- The profile titles must match your profile name further down the list.
