As Kyle points out, this issue is far more complex than simply pretending to understand the laws of your local area.

 

If I might be blunt:  PMDG is not subject to European law, and doesn't care what European courts think.  PMDG is a US company, incorporated in the US State of Nevada, and subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.

 

We don't get to pick and choose which laws we abide.  Nor do you.  ;-)

 

The rules of legal jurisdiction are well established and go back hundreds of years, so as much as someone might like to convince you otherwise, the EU cannot reach into the affairs of a foreign country and dictate what a US company must do.

 

When and/or if we ever open an EU facility, that would obviously change.  We have no plans to do so, however- so unless/until we do, please consult your EULA for your rights.

 

I am going to close this silly discussion now- as it will rapidly devolve into a bunch of opinions that have no actual legal bearing on the subject matter.  (And yes- we do have legal counsel and opinion on the matter that drives our policy.  This is the real world- we don't get to just make stuff up to suit our point of view!)
