Beware of Simware Simulations

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,I left a message here last week in regards to anyone having trouble with Simware Simulations. Tom was good enough to respond, he told me they went out of business, I gave the company a few more days to deliver my package, I also called American Express to give them a heads up, that I may have a problem with Simware Simulations. My package arrived, so I guess the company is not out of business. They failed to respond to any of my E-mails in regards to the shipping of my product (ordered on 06/30/2005) until I got one from Simware Simulation's CEO (finally received on (07/14/2005), telling me they are unable to receive any of my E-mails from verizon. Don't know how he was able to respond to one of my E-mail's from verizon since he is telling me he's not getting them. So I opened up a seperate E-mail account just to communicate with Simware Simulations. The item I ordered is their 2-Jet Engine Throttle Console, its listed on their web site for over $3,000.00, so I'm not talking about some $14.95 software upgrade product here.As I said the product arrived, it was packaged well, I'll give them that. However, the item came with no instructions, more importantly, it came with NO DRIVERS, as of right now It's just sitting here with no way for my to hook up to my computer. I once again left numerous E-mails from both my verizon account and the other account I created just for Simware Simulations. I will give them until the middle of next week, then I call American Express and dispute the charges.I have also found that I am not the only one who has had a problem with this company. As you can see by the heartache this company has put another AVSIM user through (link Provided).http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...=7120&mode=fullI just hope this complaint about Simware Simulations is allowed to stay here at AVSIM, to keep others from making the same mistake I made in doing business with this company.

Michael, yea, I got that bit about going out of business messed up. Simware is definitely alive. It was FlightSimCentral that went bust.

Michael,Scary thought. Sounds like a full blown scam to me. Best of luck.regards,Macs

Hi Tom,Thanks for the update.

Hi Guys,Well, here is the latest update. The drivers for Simware Simulations 2-Engine Jet Throttle Console do not work correctly, the Park Brake Light comes on once and will not come on again until the drivers are reloaded. The Horn Cutout Button was "NEVER CONNECTED" the wires were just left hanging inside the box, the Stab Trim controls and Auto Throttle buttons don't work at all, the Engine Cutoff's don't work correctly, the inside of the frame is "CRACKED", and what does work, needs to be re-calibrated on a regular basis. Not only is this companies "QUALITY CONTROL" an embarrassment to its customers, the product is "NOT" ready for release. The drivers are at best still in the ALPHA/BETA stage of development. The same problems I am having with Simware Simulations 2-Engine Jet Throttle Console are the same problems another AVSIM customer had back in December 2002, thats over 2 1/2 years ago.Simware Simulations "CUSTOMER SERVICE" also leaves "MUCH" to be desired. I have left numerous E-mails in regrads to Shipping, Documentation, Drivers, and items left out during the shipment of my product. I had to wait two weeks for one reply in regards to shipping, and another went unanswered altogether, it was only when I started this tread did I start to receive E-mails from this company.I did not spend all this money to be an ALPHA/BETA tester for this product. Therefore, I have contacted American Express and are disputing the charges to my credit card.If you are looking for a throttle console for your flight simulator enjoyment, avoid this product at all cost, it will only bring you grief.SignedA VERY DISAPPOINTED SIMWARE SIMULATIONS X-CUSTOMER

So sad to hear this! I truly understand your sadness and I hope you will be able to solve this issue somehow. I've also ordered stuff from SimWare like a few FS addons on CDs and Hotas Cougar, didn't have much trouble. But, seems that I was just lucky.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Once you get you money back please know that in my personal opinion, Precision Flight Controls is the standard of excellence in high end sim hardware. They have been around for many years, their support is excellent though rarely needed and their stuff is built like tanks.Regards,Jimwww.flypfc.com

Thanks for the heads up. I have given up on the Simavionics 767 TQ and was sooo close to buying one of these - not likely now!!!!I agree with Jim about PFC. Last year I bought their column yoke along with their pedals fantastic. They arrived together in 2 separate packages (the yoke very large and heavy) - 4 days after ordering from the USA to the UK. Seattle to KLAX, KLAX to EGLL, EGLL to EGHH Bournemouth UK. Then 3 days to clear b****y British Customs. The only thing stopping me from buying their jet centre consol is it is a bit too generic for my taste.Hope you resolve your problem.Ian

Well I don't know...I've ordered many times from Simware with absolutely no problems. Granted, that was just software such as sceneries and aircraft, not hardware but still, no point in spreading false rumours about them going out of business and such...

Hi,I do believe that Tom cleared up the fact that Simware Simulations was not the company that went out of business in his last response so where are the false rummors?. Just a bit late with your response, don't you think?and such...?

Not really. It's not uncommon that rumours like that keep floating around even after they've been denied, causing damage and reducing sales. As for "and such", "Beware of Simware Simulations" isn't exactly a subtle subject line for a thread.

>Not really. It's not uncommon that rumours like that keep>floating around even after they've been denied, I think you must have basic trouble with reading text in front of you. Mike never spread any rumors since he even stated that the company was *not* out of business. Considering how poorly he was treated (or cheated ?) his language is actually very restrained.Michael J.

Hi Bill,Thanks for the support!!!

I too would like to chime in with a word of support for Mike, and to thank you for giving us the heads up on this situation. What needs to be considered is that flight simming is truly a niche market, and as such it is difficult at best to be an informed consumer. If my local Wal-Mart were to sell rotten fruit, I'd hear about from any number of people before the end of the day. However, it takes a lot of research to make a truly informed purchase decision when it comes to FS software/hardware. Many reviews are biased due to advertising revenue, and I can't just ask my neighbors where they shop for the best stuff. So I (as well as MANY others) rely on these forums and the actual paying customers to help make decisions. An example....I had never payed much attention to Aeroworx....then read a thread extolling the virtues of the B200. Took a look, and based mostly on the previous customer's opinions, bought it, and sure enough, I haven't regretted my purchase.Sorry for the rambling post....but I have to support my fellow simmers when they in good faith and helpfully bring these things to my attention so I don't go through the same hassles they've already faced. Thanks again Mike for sharing your information and making us better informed shoppers!
