Ah, that's nice, missed that one completely.

1.3 you say, see any differences ? cant wait to try at home.

Ive just downloaded it now. It seems a lot bigger in size at 57.5Megs.

Do tell how it is?

Should I install it The Natural World?

& I'm still going to try landclassgis.zip in the mix as well.

And there's FS2004 TERRA EMERGENCE PROJECT (FS2004-TER) fs2004_tep_V1.0.zip from Aimé Leclercq.

No many choices......

It is excellent...won't leave home without it...but...Sun Glare, dirty or new in v1.3 causes a CTD.  Sun Glare from v1.2 does not.  I just installed v1.2's sun glare Dirty, over the v1.3 installation...and no more CTD.

Darn, I just deleted v1.2! Downloading again! :hi:

Shall I try all of the above, or am I duplicating some stuff?

The dirty sunglare of 1.2 works ? Then I misread it somewhere..

Oh yes...running in a flight with it right now...tried both dirty and new.  Both work like a charm. I used the ones from v1.3, and CTD.  Went back to v1.2...and here I am, on m way to KMYR!~

I see that between v1.2 and v1.3, you gain some features (control) but lose some as well.   I like the fact that you can choose under Reflections, either Glossy, or Matt found in v1.3.  You lose the ability to choose your water though...so, I just pulled from v1.2 what I wanted. I think that Matt looks great..so what I have done actually, is installed the best from v1.2, and from v1.3. I built a new folder, that incorporates all the features that I like, so now only need to open that one.

I have to tell ya...now...I think that (and this is soooooo funny....) FS9, puts out a better atmospheric visual, combined with REX2004 Extreme's clouds...than anything that I own...the other sims...and their respective weather graphic add-ons.  Jon...FS9's sky/refracted haze...looks so real...exactly to my eyes, how the real world looks as from rotation, right on through to cruise FL.  This really is quite fantastic.  Between this set of graphics, and Sascha's EVO...FS9 has shed its age.

Good idea about creating your own folder. Would you mind sharing? Especially what you have taken out of 1.2 to put into 1.3?

Wob...open both folders...and go hand-in-hand between all the folders...you will see that each version has its advantages.  I just pulled from v1.3..what I didn't have in v1.2...and that is now my folder and combined version for injection.

Good idea about creating your own folder. Would you mind sharing? Especially what you have taken out of 1.2 to put into 1.3?

Just open both folders in separate windows...and then go down each item. Use v1.2 as your base.  don't OVERWRITE anything that you already see in v1.2!

For instance, there is no choice under v1.2 Reflections, to have either Glossy, or Matt. So...when you have Reflections open in v1.2, just carry over (copy) the Glossy and Matt options from v1.3.  Stuff like that.  Then just name your new folder, whatever you want. Mine is now called Combined FE9Gvcustom

In a post above, I noted what I have injected from v1.2, with the addition of Sun: Dirty Glare, and now from v1.3,  Matt as the reflective choice for the water. I have DARK (blue) from v1.2 as the water color. It all comes together beautifully...and looks as real, as this man sees when he boards a RL flight....  No difference now. I can't say the same for any other sim, quite frankly.  FS9, with both FE9G(whatever) and EVO2015/16, is now simply 'ageless'....

I should mention, that I use all the features of REX2004 Extreme, for airports textures, signage, and clouds. I think these are the best visuals for clouds frankly, in the business.  I then inject over the REX atmospherics, FE9G (my choices) and that is the finished 'burnt in' FS9 for my needs.

Post Edit Observation.  I think that one main feature that now stands out in FS9, is when viewing the haze/pollution/refraction graphics. They are not simply a layer of white (like a dead, long cloud sprite) but...but has a true version of depth.  In some places as you view around the plane in spot view, or a wing view, some of this layer, obscures the ground completely, and in other air-space, you can eye-penetrate it to view whatever is upon the ground.  It's no longer with haze/moisture, 'all or nothing'.  This adds tremendously to the advancement of plausible believeability.  No haze/moisture layer, or how dense the cloud coverage is...or even what type of cloud is being rendered, has any influence on FPS.  Not one FPS drops anywhere, flying and passing through anything, or over any ground representation.  It simply looks killer, with a GTX1070.

You sure the 1.2 sun dirty works well ? I had crashes with it. In 1.3 the files are exactly the same.

Strange.

Strange

Well..even stranger, the last use of FS9, with the dirty came up...liked the mottled flare.

I just came back to use the sim...and got the black screen.  I fired it up again...and again, got the black CTD.  So...I swapped out the 'new' and got to the airport.   Why I had it running once, beats me...but consider my system not able to run it as of now.  So, the same as you, now.  I wonder if the crash is dependent on what ASE throws to the screen...(metrics?). The one time it ran..perhaps did not trigger a bad call?

Bummer...

I also had problems with the dirty flare. I tracked it down to one graphics file/setting included, can't remember which one. Will try to find out again. I've installed the sky Johan recommended in his Queen of the Sky thread and it's great!
