I can't seem to make heads or tails of the installation process.

They are rather "nebulous".  I gave up trying to play the game of switching the textures around blindly .... not knowing what to expect first.

Hi gwillmot,

Tell me what you don't understand, I will help with pleasure

My intial idea was to make *bat files in order to create automatic installs but I am not an expert and did not want to brake the user's simulator.

As for the variants, I could show an picture in the manual for each variant but I think it would mean nothing as FS rendering depends on many many things and settings. The best is still to give a try.

But I am open to any suggestion to enhance the product so don't hesitate !

I very much welcome this approach. Nothing is that annoying as installers which change stock files here and there and don't let you know what they actually did. Knowing the folder structure of FS9, I had no problem with "installing" the package.

Just one suggestion: place a screenshot/thumb of every textures' variant - ideally without using any shader - into this variant's folder, would make the choice easier.

Thanks and regards

Harald

That's all the help that I'd need.  Need differential information or it's all just putzing around (in my opinion only, of course).

Hello again.

I promise I'm not new to this, but seriously - the instructions say to extract files to the main FS9 folder.  Done, great.  Now what?  It doesn't DO anything, except fail to launch FS9 now.  What gives?

Very nice!

Any update on the FS9 crash with the other sun glare settings ?

These set of replacement textures are superb!  Combined with  the latest versioin of: EVO...it is a knock-out punch!

What you need to do..is open each texture family and selection.  Notice what the folder tree is showing you. For instance, you open up a Global Sky Texture Folder.  You will see two folders nestled into that.  Notice the names, then click on each of those folders...and see another folder with the nestled subs.  In otherwords, watching the pathway of each folder, would show you for instance that in the 'Scenery' folder, the next folder is World, then the next folder is Texture.  So, you are being told to take the texture sets from that location, and place them in Scenery/World/Texture.

Now you will see at the top level, of each selection for instance, another folder that is below the Scenery Folder. It is named Texture. That means, that you are to place what is inside that folder (Texture) into the Texture folder in the root directory.

The secret is to just take your time...LOOK at the name of the first folder...and then 'follow' the path flow from each folder nestled in the root one...and it will absolutely tell you where the textures sets need to go.  Once you do that...and combined with EVO2015/16...the atmospherics are as good as anything that came behind FS9.  The night Dusk/Night/Dawn/Day transitions are fabulous!

I have installed:

Global Post Processing: ENBSeries+SweetFX Natural

Global Reflection: Green Blue

Global Sky: all Variants/ Hot

Global Water: Dark Water

Global Waves: Medium Waves

For Sun Glare, I kept REX2004 Extreme for that depiction.

Cool, but I think the sunglare is a special one to obtain the right visuals.

Its not so much as a visual glare, but also changes the lighting dramatically.

I just installed Global Sun:  Sun & Dirty Lens Flare,...to see the diff between it and REX2004 Extreme.  This package makes atmospherics totally believable.  I appreciate the refracted haze..in that some parts of it can not be seen through, as other sections of your view can...which all changes via input from A.S.E. live weather. It beautifully enhances Sascha's EVO ground textures.  Total believability from both packages combined! Most excellent.

Where can I find the Global Sun download?
