July 2, 201510 yr Hi all, I was wondering if there are any cons from using fsuipc to launch supporting apps (eg ezdok) instead of including them in the EXE.XML source. I find Ezdok often crashes on start up and thought this might be a way of delaying it's start until I'm into the sim proper. I'm happy to experiment, but thought I'd see if it has been done successfully before. Cheers, Mark B.
July 2, 201510 yr I just manually start it. It's pinned in my start menu. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA

July 2, 201510 yr Well, that answers the OP's question! There aren't aren't any cons. However, anything started with the sim, I believe, count's against its VAS. So if it can be started separately, that is what I do. David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
July 2, 201510 yr It is possible to create an .exe using the FSUIPC variabes in the same way as an .exe using the SimConnect variables. Neither count against the VAS. Gerry Howard
July 2, 201510 yr I should be more clear. Started with the sim using the exe.xml David Graham Google, Network+, Cisco CSE, Cisco Unity Support Specialist, A+, CCNA
July 2, 201510 yr Maybe you should take a look at SIMstarter. With that you can tweek the sim and start any program, using any delay, you want. And its free (payware). It's also supported at Avsim, how good is that? Happy Days :Applause: :Applause: :Applause: Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60GHz.
