August 13, 201510 yr Author From what I understand that the secondary computer doesn't have to be all that powerful to run ASN. Basically all it seems to be doing is pulling the weather online then getting it to blend some and injecting it into FSX at different periods. It probably adds a good bit of resultion to the model as well (I have most likely simplified this) but long story short it isn't a power hog all on its own. It can be a hog for your FSX PC depending upon the number of cloud layers you use. Most people use 5 or so but the program can do something like 20

I am using my 8 year old Windows XP machine that was my FS9 computer back in the day. Mark CYYZ
August 16, 201510 yr I have Plan-G working over the network (using simconnect) and presently do not have FSUIPC Wish I could figure out why you and so many others can this to work, but despite close to a full day trying various options, it just kept disconnecting. I tried it on my FSX machine and loved it which is why I am so bummed I could get it to play nice. I'm going to try it with a physical connection with and an ethernet cable when I get hold of them, otherwise I may have to add WideFs to my Fsuipc
August 16, 201510 yr Author Good luck. I will say I am doing it with a hard wired connection to a router on both ends. I know I had to create my data base files on the P3d machine then copy those over to the Plan-G machine for it to even start working. Hope this helps
August 18, 201510 yr I found a FSUIPC server app still on my machine from a previous add-on, and within a minute of opening it I had successfully got Plan-G to connect from my laptop. It worked flawlessly and surprisingly qjuickly- even building the DB remotely only took a couple of mins. So, no need for a Simconnect.XML file or hoirsmof messing with network and firewall settings anymore ! Thanks for your replies Brett and Mark!
August 18, 201510 yr One other thing that I didn't see mentioned. Save yourself some possible future pain and assign each computer a static address instead of allowing the router to dynamically allocate the IP address.
