I'm a pariah now...
Please excuse my ignorance but why would that picture be considered offensive?

Active Sky Cloud Art for FSX & P3D - Released!
Quick Question, Does AS16 get rid of the hard haze line you would see in P3D where the distant mountain peaks would be crystal clear and the lower half of the mountain would be hazy?

Quality Joystick for P3D in Windows 10
Thrustmaster Wharthog is fantastic and you can usually buy the stick and throttle separately on Amazon if you are not interested in the throttle (though it is just as great as the stick is)

Active Sky Next Strange Fog/Haze
For what is worth, I had it in P3dV2 and the current P3dV3 along with the past ASN versions. I agree it is ugly.

I would be curious as to what your system specs are and a general idea of what settings you run

Frustrated Terrain Issue
Sorry, but that is the extent of the Level of Detail Radius for Autogen

ASN fps drop in dense clouds.
Same here with the dense clouds. Also noticed that having building shadows and vegetation shadows (3000m) enabled in some situations would crush my graphics card (970 GTX) having it pegged at 99%. This is with 3.2 and the latest ASN.

The reason why I love PMDG products, please never change.
Thanks Dave, I have always been fan of the smaller planes and have found A2A to be wonderful. Recently, tried their B377 and it opened my eyes to whole new element of simming. Will probably look at getting the majestic Q400 or one of the PMDG products sometime this year (knowing myself....probably one from each...lol)

Just being curious, but what other two aircraft add-on producers do you feel go to the same level of detail?

Prepar3D v3.2 is out !
Please excuse my ignorance but is SGSS something within P3D or NI. If in NI is it normally set for on. Presently I haven't touched NI and just have the bar pushed towards quality over performance on the Nvidia configuration page within windows 10 Thanks, Brett

Prepar3D v3.2 is out !
Last time I just did the upgrade path. If I choose to update the scenery, will I then have to reinstalled all the ORBX products (regions/airports) or just ORBX Global textures? Thanks, Brett

FTX SAK PAHO Corruption
I had something similar happen to me. I don't recall completely but I believe I reinstalled PAHO or perhaps did something with Vector then switched the FTX areas in FTX central. One of the other airports has an anomaly where you can correct it by moving the airport one spot up or one spot down in scenery inside P3d. Sorry I couldnt be more specific other than to say I had the problem and it wasn't hard to fix

Radius for drawing non-autogen buildings
ok, I wasn't aware that custom buildings had their own LOD. I was aware of the Trees and Autogen LOD. Thanks

Radius for drawing non-autogen buildings
Hi, I have seen a good bit of posts which details the autogen LOD for buildings and trees but I have never seen anything with regards to what distance the non-autogen objects get drawn. In this respect you can see the custom buildings of the Seattle skyline well beyond the autogen radius and the same holds true for airports, etc. Is this distance documented anywhere. Not necessarily looking to change the distance, just looking to get an idea of what it is. Kind regards, Brett

I came, I saw, I have my first hickup
I am running my add-ons (ASN, Plan-G) from a networked computer so that helps a bit. I was just surprised how much difference there was in blurries when two LPs were shared on one core as opposed to being one per core. Thanks for all you have done in investigating the finer workings

I came, I saw, I have my first hickup
I agree that this works well, though I do feel there is a quality aspect. I had been using the approach of teaming up two threads on one physical core and and leaving the first physical core free (10,11,10,00) but I found that I was getting alot of "bluries" with the textures and especially apparent with the roads which would get very jagged. This wasn't across the whole screen but in spots here and there. If I paused the sim, it would catch up and everything would get crisp again. I poked around with graphics settings a good bit and it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Finally I tried just putting one LP on each Physical core (10,10,10,10) and the bluries disappeared and everything has been crisp since. In neither case was the graphics card pegged. I will say that this was with a relatively quick aircraft (WW2 warbird) at lower altitudes (1000-1500ft) in some ORBX scenery. From a quality standpoint this has worked much better. Just thought I would pass this along.

Way to Use Saitek Pedals without Saitek Drivers
I have been using the Saitek CRPs in windows 10 with P3D without drivers. The trim wheel did give me fits until the latest beta drivers were released. You can check the power management and make sure that they are set to always one.....that may help

Help pick CPU cooler for i7 4790k at 4.6GHz
I have pretty much the same system as you 4790K 970 GTX 16 GB RAM and a 212 EVO cooler. I have run it comfortably with the evo 212 cooler at 4.5-4.6 GHz using a decent Affinity Mask of 85 in which P3D/FSX only uses 1 logical core per physical core. It will get the occasional spike to 70c but averages in the low 60's. Hope this helps

P3d blurries
If you just installed a new card, I believe you need to delete the shader cache and let P3D regenerate it next time you start....if you havent done so already

How does this work

How does this work
Hi, I have poked around the Vatsim site and mainly have one main question. How exactly does this service work? Are there just specific towers/airports that are controlled? Do controllers cover several airports/airspaces? Are there specific schedules for when a controller is available? Is this information readily available? Well I guess it was more than one question  Thanks in advance, Brett
