Thanks AOPA....I just finished the PSP to LAS flight to check out the terrain feature. I was dialed down on fuel consumption, and man pressure, and it shut engines off a couple of times. Guess it's back to the manuals... :-lolEnjoy it, it's a very nice glass panel.BTW - The Terrain feature on the Chelton ONLY works between Palm Springs and las Vegas, so it won't work anywhere else. :-(Regards,Joeaopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

Hi Matt,Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it. :-)Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.I think it is the Freeware set that is out there. But I'm not sure.I believe it is this set, but a lot of people have different favorites:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...scen&DLID=42746I did the flight out of TNCM, so some of that may be the default mixed in, I'm not sure.By the way, you also might enjoy Guenter's Freeware Cirrus SR20 if you haven't grabbed that one yet. Nice Freeware plane with a BRS Parachute to boot.Cirrus SR20http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...04ac&DLID=66089Regards,JoePS - Don't forget to post some screenshots in the Screenshot forum. :-) aopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

:-lolNo Flight1 wrapper on this one. Once you log onto the AOPA members-only site, you just click through to Flight1, download the executable installer, and you're good to go.

Hi Scott,The Manuals are pretty good too. The Installer puts a Folder Called (AOPA 112A Manuals) on your desktop.Good reading and you learn a bit about the Cheltons and how they work. I did the flight from Palm Springs to Las Vegas last night, and it was a good flight to try out what I had read earlier in the manuals.Regards,Joeaopa.gif" border="0" alt="Grab My FREEWARE Voice recognition Profiles here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=58334]Cessna 172 Voice Profile[/a][a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004misc&DLID=60740]FSD Avanti Voice Profile[/a].You will need the main FREEWARE Flight Assistant program to use it, get it here:[a href=http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=genutils&DLID=39661]Flight Assistant 2.2[/a]

I've been fooling around with it for a couple of days now and really like the job that the guys have done. But (there just had to be one of those...) the darn thing stutters so badly it's almost unflyable at times. I've NEVER had a problem like this with any airplane. Anyone else seen this? Or maybe it's just something on my system here that's the problem.DougP4 3.0C SL6WK @ 3.510 (1.600 vCore - 234 FSB)OEM Intel HSF Asus P4C800-E Deluxe (BIOS 1019)2 x 512MB Corsair TWINX CXM3700 (3-4-4-8)4 x 300GB WD HDD'sHercules 9800 Pro (128MB @ 410/360)A-Open 1648 AAPPlextor 708AEnermax 431W PSUInwin Case

Hi Doug,On my system I found that it is very sensitive to the range on the Chelton nav display. If I set the range out too far I start getting stutters, kind of found out by accident but since noticing it I leave the range no higher than 10 miles and no stutters :).Have fun flyin'Zane

Thanks Zane. I finally got that one figured out. Now the problem is that I can't get the A/P heading bug to work. The thing just seems to have a mind of it's own. Dial-in any heading you want and it seems to pick and hold on some random number. The bug moves to the right spot but the A/P just ignores it. More testing to do.....Doug

Hi Doug. I was the programmer of the A/P for this airplane. This is actually the first time I've seen the completed plane, and the problem is in the EFIS. Whoever programmed the EFIS does not update the actual FS heading bug when you change the value in the EFIS. All it does it add or subtract 1 from it each time you hit the button. The problem is that it doesn't always sync up with what FS thinks the heading bug is set to. The first time I tried the completed plane (just now), it was very obvious what the problem was. FS thought the heading bug was at 030

Thanks for the explaination Matt. At least now I know that it wasn't something I was doing :-). I think the Commander has the potential to be a really superb aircraft after a few "adjustments" are made. I'm amazed that F1 and AOPA released it in this condition - especially since some simple testing could have avoided these, and other, problems (there are some radio stack graphics issues that need to be fixed as well). I really hope F1 takes the time to get the problems resolved as this could well become my favorite GA ride. Doug
