FS2004+Google Earth+MyFSGoogle Earth=AWESOME!

Featured Replies

I downloaded a program called MyFSGoogleEarth that allows you to port the plane info to Google Earth and you can actually fly fs2004 and Google Earth in tandem, quite interesting you can see and track your plane as well as AI planes. You can download the program called MyFSGoogleearth at : http://www.elbiah.deHappy Flying! If you come across anything inteesting please post here, Thanks, Danny

It's good, but after one go the novelty wears off. I can't see the use for it really. Plus Google Earth and FS running at the same time really drags down the system.

I have just had fun switching airports and watch the plane settle on the runway on google. Amazing how many are off. It is also useful to se how far MS and Google are different as far as roads and rivers.Danny

Good catch Danny. Thanks for the link. - Doug

>Plus Google Earth and FS running at the same time really drags>down the system. If you have WideFS, the Google portion can be moved to a second computer; this takes the load off the flightsim computer.

You are welcome, Doug. Hope you enjoy it.Danny

Thank you so much for posting this. I would never have found it on my own and it is absolutely fantastic!

Glad eveyone is enjoying MyFSGoogleEarth, I sure am. I had a fellow call me last week that was having trouble with setup. Most critical is to make sure you get the port numbers right in MyFSGoogleEarth, he had his wrong and was not getting info passed.DannyI almost forgot there is a similiar product put out by NASA that is loads of fun also. It is called World Wind and you can download it here: http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/ . World Wind gives you much better 3d Terrain than google earth and has great features, like placefinder and layer info.

hii tried it but find it a real drag on the system, pity it would have been a good add on to pass time seeing where you flying on those long hauls.

Sorry, but did you read the first post of this thread before posting?

Clayton, I am going to try to run Fs2004 on my desktop and then run MyFSGoogleEarth and Google earth on my laptop. I am on a network so it may work. That should speed it up a bit.Danny

That should speed it up a bit. That's the way the program is really intended to work; see references to WideFS in documentation and elsewhere on author's website.
