August 29, 201510 yr Anyone knows what folders / configuration files I should save before installing SMP v2 ? I know I will want to keep it, but just in case I want to revert back to default clouds, what's the minimal backup required ? August 29, 201510 yr José, Doesn't SkyMaxx backup the files on it's own? At least that's what I thought it did. Anyways, if you want to revert back to default clouds, just remove Skymaxx and the next time you update X-Plane your default clouds should be restored.
August 29, 201510 yr Author Yep, now I recall! Thx Michel Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
August 29, 201510 yr And if you want to go back and forth without uninstalling, just disable your Silverlining plug-in. John John Wingold
August 29, 201510 yr Author Thx John! Great hint! Now I can switch between cloud rendering in a click :-) Among other things, great to measure how much more FPS we gain with SMP vs default clouds depending on cloud coverage / density. August 30, 201510 yr Moderator It does replace some minor files like the sky colours etc.. But running the X-Plane updater seems to replace them back again. It's never been a problem and it's easy to disable by disabling the plugin and restarting X-Plane

But then, each time I run the XP updater I lose those sky colors ? Should I run the SMP installer again then ?
