PDF Kneeboard in P3D V2.5

Featured Replies

Has anyone got PDF Kneeboard working in P3D V2.5?

I have installed as per instructions in the Modules folder, and edited the P3D DLL config file as follows:

<Launch.Addon>
    <Name>PDFKneeboard</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>.\modules\pdfkneeboard.dll</Path>
    <Commandline/>
</Launch.Addon>

However I can't see it in the Add On menu.  Can anyone help??

Tested it in P3D 2.5, just for fun. This works for me:

<Launch.Addon>
   <Name>PDFKneeboard</Name>
   <Disabled>False</Disabled>
   <Path>Modules\pdfkneeboard.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

Hope it works for you too! :)

Hi

Thank you for your assistance!

I tried changing the entry as you suggested however it still didn't work.

However, I did manage to get it working by manually installing the SimConnect modules thanks to the explanation in this thread..

In case anyone else faces this situation, use the above entry in your DLL config and make sure the simconnect modules are installed.

PDFkneeboard is such a great tool, it allows me to view my flight plan and charts without ever leaving the cockpit.

Ah, I already had SimConnect installed, sorry I didn't think of that.

Glad you got it working! :smile:

Anyone know where to get PDF Kneedboard. I can't find a download anywhere?

Thanks

nevermind. I searched again and it found it. :)

Hum, unlucky :(

I installed the PdfKneeboard.dll (version 18X) in P3D/Modules folder, declared the entry in DLL.xml and ... nothing in P3D.

I have SimConnect installed of course (my radar gauge uses it).

No sub-menu under Addons, no effect with K key or Ctrl+O.

I suppose PDFKneeboard uses an FSX version of SimConnect - not sure exactly which one, I have 3 (FSX) versions installed, plus the ESP one.

Fortunately, all FSX SimConnects are included in P3D as well.

Try installing the SP2 version from "[P3D]\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib".

Will this work in P3D V.3.1?

Yep, works just fine. Make sure you use the script mentioned by Penz above instead of what it says in the readme file.

Also unlucky here...

Running P3D 2.5 and version 1.8x for FSX.

Copied DLL file to Modules directory, edit DLL.xml file, re-installed simconnect  using [P3D]\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib file.

Still not appearing on addon menu nor K key lanches de kneepad...

Very few steps to be done and yet... no result...

Difficult to see what could be wrong...

It may use a different simconnect. You can install all of them, will not hurt a thing.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

IT WORKED!!!!

Thanks for the tip jimcarrel.

I launched a search in explorer and found almost 6 versions of simconnect.msi in my Program Files Directory. Installed all of them. Some didn't install due to some errors.

In my case the problem was to to find the correct version of the simconnect.

Thank you very much.
