September 18, 201510 yr This was the issue I raised with the T2G author. Unlike AES where the jetway aligns at right-angles to the fuselage this isn't the case when relying on Ctrl+J at airports like T2Gs that rely on the default FSX action. I found the jetway approaches the aircraft at an angle which results in it cutting into the fuselage. I thought it might have been a design issue with T2G or the Exit.0 values in aircraft.cfg. However, the author advises this is a limitation of FSX and he can't unfortunately do anything about it. Have others found the same problem at airports where Ctrl+J activates the jetway? Could it be that the markings on the tarmac are not aligned correctly, causing the pilot to park the aircraft at an angle not perpendicular to the jetway's rotational angle? I have yet to find airport that has moving jetways that align to an aircraft exactly like they do in real life. I too have experienced the jetways cutting into the aircraft, but just chalked it up as short of perfection. I guess I'm not as picky over something like that. Further investigation to confirm or deny could be with utilizing either GSX or AES and seeing the geometric relationship in action. -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

September 19, 201510 yr Hi Ray, Thanks for the response. I just went ahead and bought it since I was having so much trouble getting the original KSEA installed. So far it seems to be working fine. I live in Seattle, used to live across the street from it a looooong time ago, and it does sit on a mini plateau. I played golf at the south end of the RH runway which was probably 20 to 30 feet above the course. In those days wing tip vortices could really play havoc with a golf shot as the vortices came down to the ground. I digress, thanks for your info. Tom
October 22, 201510 yr Author Moderator I'm tearing my hair out with Taxi2Gate and their host for the support forum. They seem to have setup yet another version of the host page and my old registration is no longer accepted. http://www.iflysimx.com/ Despite re-registering no confirmation email has arrived. Am I alone in being totally frustrated with Taxi2Gate? Why does he rely on such an appalling service for his forum? October 25, 201510 yr I can sympathize with you Ray. T2G's forum being handled by a third party that isn't exactly reliable is not good business. I hope they get things straight or else they'll lose business. -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit
October 25, 201510 yr Author Moderator Thanks Jim. Still no registration email received and I have requested it 3 times now. Let this be a warning to prospective T2G customers. October 25, 201510 yr Ray, Have you tried to login to the site with the credentials you entered when you registered? I just tried the site and it works fine, although they really didn't get too original with it's design and setup as it mimics a couple other fight sim sites I have been to, one of which is very familiar to anyone who visits AVSIM. Hahaha There ARE a couple of messages posted at the tops of the pages in red, stating that they are still working on the site and forums, getting it completed so the site as a whole still needs some work. I'll PM you some more details. -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit
October 26, 201510 yr Author Moderator Hi Jim, Yes, tried original login details but weren't accepted and had to reregister. Still no email from them and nothing from support at T2G. Sent him another message this evening strongly advising he considers moving his support forum to AvSim. I've never experienced anything like this before with registering. Can't imagine I'm alone. October 26, 201510 yr That is pretty odd. It's as if they aren't accepting new members or something to that effect. I'll see if I can find anything in the forums about registration issues and get back to you. -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit
October 26, 201510 yr Author Moderator Don't worry Jim. I heard from the forum admin and he's approved my registration. He wasn't able to say why I never received a registration confirmation email. Said it wasn't a problem for him. So that's okay then! I see there's no MMMX sub-forum but I will compare performance at KMCO and MMMX and ask why the latter is so poor in comparison. November 21, 201510 yr Hello Jim, Thanks for your reply and background to iFlySimX. I did receive a message from a chap named Clement this morning asking what my username was and I supplied that to him. I appreciate all these forums take manpower to maintain and getting extra help isn't always easy. The trouble is if it then becomes difficult to ask for help you feel less inclined to buy their products even though they are very good. I explained the problem to the developer of T2G and he answered my query. It related to the alignment of the jetways against the fuselage when pressing Ctrl+J. The jetway approaches the aircraft at an angle which then causes it to cut into the fuselage. This doesn't happen with AES jetways. He explained that it's a limitation of FSX, not T2G design. That's a pity really as it spoils the effect. Not a showstopper but disappointing all the same. Hello Jim. Interestingly enough, I searched for taxi2gate KMCO on Avsim to research the exact same two problems. Jetways, and inability to register for the web site. I agree with the jetways being a pity. I'm still in love with the airport. They did an outstanding job on it. The jetways themselves are beautifully modeled. I can't believe that the alignment is so far off. I sure hope the fix them.
