Can this make Microsoft quit MSFS series...?

Hey IanYou know Metro's motto don't you:'yesterday's news today!' ;-) Ian

That was pretty much the same news story many US newspapers ran in the weeks and months after September 11th.It IS true, the news world has lost it's innocence! This site here is a joke, but the sad thing is, it could have been true!!!http://www.newstohughes.com/archives/000145.html

>Hi "Phanton" .... where did you hear about FS being banned?Hi,I was searching with Google about "Microsoft Flight Simulator " and I found 2 or 3 websites (forums) with a conversation going on about the UK government concern regarding simulators like FS and XP. These sites were not MSFS or XP related.I didn

I would say that currently it will certainly not cause any bad to MSFS series. However, who knows what will happen in future. Maybe they will start to sell the MSFSs only via Microsoft website and require a proof from local police department that you have no criminal record history :D

>Have the dumb pommy paper editors worked out that planes fly>and subways run underground?>>Andy bI doubt it Andy, and dumb is too polite a word for them. I mean our UK tabloids are a complete and tragic joke. Alas people continue to buy them although I understand that sales generally are dropping, which means that they hav to compete with other forms of news delivery, which encourages them to be even more outrageous with their headlines. I won't even censored -- please watch your language {mj} with The Sun.x(

Well, that wasn't in any any of the Metro papers that our office read every day and if you want a rag that really makes up the news as it goes along, try any of the "heavies" such as the Daily Mail and Torygraph. They'll more than happily put a spin on anything as long as it will promote their agenda. You can also guarantee that there will be one food scare story, one asylum scare story, one article about how life was so perfect in "The Good Old Days" before the 1970s Labour Government and one article about how to win your dream home/holiday in another country.Journalism is dead. It's not enough to report the news now, you have to be seen to be making it.Ian P.

If they didn't opt to cease production on it in 2001/2002 when the press was all over the 9/11 terrorists possibly using Flightsim to help train for their attacks, I'm sure they won't even consider it this time around......That's just sensationalistic tabloid journalism at its best...

MS pull out because of this, or any article referring to flightsim in this context? No way. You may as well close down every flight school in the world on that basis. Are certain authorities paying more attention to these forums? Yes, surely.I cringe with shame at every mention of certain British tabloids, being a Brit myself, although the METRO is pretty innocuous stuff. But before those in the US get too casually critical of others' gutter press, they might care to remember "The National Enquirer" and other such rags, on sale in every supermarket checkout line! It's only a matter of time before it's unearthed that the 9/11 terrorists had two heads and came from Mars or had an affair with (fill in this week's flavour-of-the-month entertainer) despite having some dreaded disease.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Yeah,I thought that looked awfully a lot like the tabloid rags that seem so common in London newsstands.Hi Matt.Jeff

I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.

Notice the caption on the pic. It says, it's a screengrab of MSFS, it doesn't say it came from the terrorists PC. They probably created it themselves to add to the hype!!

Thanks

>There was a time that the news was reported -- somewhat>acurately, I might add, those were the likes of Walter>Cronkite, and his peers who told it as it was, without>colorizing it or trying to influence the news in any way. Clay,I have followed a lot of your posts and have the utmost respect for you. I agree with you about journalism and telling it like it is, not how they want their views portrayed. Walter Cronkite isn't the greatest example. My father served in Vietnam. Vietnam changed him in many ways. He doesn't talk about it much but at one point he told me "I had to fight a war overseas and then come home and fight another war". What he meant by that was all the anti war protesters that were spitting on him and attacking him for just doing his duty. My father had to finish his military duty in Washington D.C. He had to deal with these people everyday. It hurt him worse than anything he had experienced in Vietnam. In 1968, while anchor of the "CBS Evening News," Cronkite journeyed to Vietnam to report on the aftermath of the Tet offensive. In a dramatic departure from the traditions of "objective" journalism, Cronkite concluded his reports with a personal commentary in which he voiced his strong belief that the war would end in stalemate. Cronkite's editorial would later be regarded as a critical indice of public opinion of the Vietnam War. These journalists should be more responsible in what they report. They hurt a lot of people using the power of paper or televison, just to express their personal views or the one of their network. They don't seem to worry about the outcome of the people it affects. Cronkite's comments did just that to the soldiers like my father. Jeff

In other words this paper is of the "Mutant 2 Headed Baby Eats Own Mother" genre. :D:D

If they toned it down, and left out the trash, they would have more time to print the truth, about more stories that were "real news." They might even have time to print GOOD NEWS ! Most "news" channels repeat the same programs for 24 hours, and serve up only about 4 hours of news. If everyone stopped checking them all day, and only watched the main news once, ratings would drop. If -everyone- took the time to write one email, and sent it to all the news sources they check, we might get some real news reporters back again. Get rid of the "pretty" talking heads. Its easy to do, I write emails to news agencies, TV and Newspapers almost once a day... I have a "mailing list" in my addresses called NEWS... Then, when I see a story that is a waste, I send out an email. When I see one which is a good story for the average person, I also send out a complimentary email, telling how much it was appreciated. Then, if I want to send a specific email, to a TV or Paper, it is also easy, as I dont have to try to find the address. Remember, those you send mail to, do pay attention. They figure for every email they get, there are 5-10,000 who have THE SAME opinion. We proved this in CA, when the legislature was going to vote on CHARGING for access to the website with infor about legislative action. WE the Taxpayers are already paying for this site. We only had 36 hours notice they were going to vote. We put several notes into a CA Forum... The first emails began hitting the legislature the next morning. WIth only 24 hours, they got several hundred emails. With only that number, in that time, it was defeated. The story came out later, if there had been more notice, there would have been millions of emails! You do count, if you write.
