CC Goose issue/Other issues....

Featured Replies

There doesn't seem to be an aircraft.cfg file so the aircraft doesn't show up in game.Anybody else with this issue?

You already posted this in the other thread. Relax, it ain't the end of the world.

Absolutely, and there are missing textures on some of the static aircraft or AI Traffic - looks like it might be an Avenger dive bomber....There is no un-installer, #### autoinstallers, what else has it done?

Which the other is NOT. How else are people supposed to know where to look for a solution. You're right, I have been here long enough, long enough to know that.*EDIT* I put a link in the other thread to this one for issues.

Textures for the Avenger & the Blimp are showing up, don't know why they didn't first time around. However, Goose does not work and so causes initialisation failures on all the flights

It is perfectly possible to choose a temporary directory, which is a wise move with any autoinstaller when the option is there. The AIRCRAFT.CFG file does, indeed, appear to be missing from the Goose. Perhaps when we've posted enough threads here with everybody asking everybody else whether they've found it, someone will think to ask Bill!...and when someone does, please do it politely? It was generous enough he uploaded these files...

Bill and Lynn's "temporary" home is over at The Old Hangar forum. All the recent Bill and Lynn news can be caught-up with there. One might even find a link to the aircraft.cfg for the Goose ;-) (for those in a hurry).

Let's look at it from my point of view. Like a lot of people, I have a lot of expensive payware add-ons installed. Like a lot of other people, I also have hundreds of hours invested in downloaded AI traffic. The last think anyone wants is to have to do a re-install and with an auto-installer, particularly one which is likely to contain scenery, effects, the whole works, you can never be sure what has been put where, what it's overwritten, whether memory leaks have been created etc etc.I did think about whether to run it but decided to do so because of its impeccable source. When problems arose, it became obvious I must have been one of the first few people to see the downloads in the "What's New" section. I started to wonder if the download was genuine - after all this is fairly recent payware from the most reputable of sources and which as I remember got excellent reviews at the time. Had someone hacked a payware copy and uploaded it maliciously....?It's clear that at least 2 of us over-reacted to this - but my desire was to prevent anyone else loading these files up until any problem was sorted out.My apologise unreservedly if that was interpreted as something else. I now have the fix and I'm sure I'll be very happy with it.

Then at least you know what you've got!Yep, this is important enough to get repeated :)Just point the installer to any empty directory (I chose f:lyonsfs2004) then just copy the files over manually.
