October 27, 201510 yr It appears that in P3Dv3, there is no full screen mode (as such). Mine is behaving as is if its only a borderless windowed view. Is this correct, or have I 'broken' something;-) Also, if this is normal, that suggests the setting I use in nVidia Inspecter (1/2 refresh rate, would probably either not work, or even be detrimental to P3D performance? October 27, 201510 yr You're correct. Full screen mode poses other problems with regard to task switching in Windows and LM decided to eliminate true full screen mode. See this wiki for example: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Glossary:Borderless_fullscreen_windowed

See this wiki for example: http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Glossary:Borderless_fullscreen_windowed Ok thanks. I guess that's probably a double edged sword then.... My system showed MUCH better performance in FSX when applying those settings, but the windowed mode also had many advantages. This being the case, are there any nVidia Inspecter 'profile' files anywhere for P3Dv3? Hmmm, on my setup, I have no problem with full screen. Phil, have you tried using the key combo ALT+ENTER? -Jim Hi Jim No 'problems 'as such'. Just behavior I wasn't expecting. For example.... I use a small program to show a shortcut bar, containing all my FS apps. In FSX full screen mode, this does not appear. In P3Dv3 it does. Made me wonder what was happening Windows 10 (x64) - X-Plane 11 - M/B: Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero - CPU: i7 7700k (@5.0GHz) - RAM: 32Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @ 3200MHz - Video: GTX1080ti - Cooling: Custom water loop (EK 140 Revo D5 pump/res combo, EK EVO CPU block, EK XE360 Rad)

If so, that may be causing friction with your sim. -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

October 28, 201510 yr P3D just looks like it's full screen but it's really not. October 28, 201510 yr That's correct. And this statement is found where, because the settings that are available in the P3D can now be confirmed as misleading to someone who is not in the know. So now the question is , what does it matter whether we are in true full screen or not? If I am in P3D and I don't see a border on my screen, but I am not in fullscreen, then what is it? -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

This has several implications, for me, the most important one is that 1/2 refresh rate vsync does not work in P3D therefore if you can't achieve 60FPS most of the time or don't have 30Hz monitor you're going to experience micro stutters and the simulator will never be as smooth as it would be with 1/2 refresh rate thing. There's no need to get defensive, just asking questions here. So it's a refresh rate issue. Would this refresh rate you are trying to achieve be set in nvidia inspector by chance? Have you just tried leaving that alone and seeing how the sim runs? October 28, 201510 yr I was not defensive, I just answered your question. The refresh rate thing I described has nothing to do with simconnect. It's just how things are for everybody. Well, I personally don't have an issue with refresh rates. I just run that aspect of my sim in default and it just works, so your statement "It's just how things are for everybody", isn't quite entirely true. -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit

With 1/2 refresh rate vsync you can get similar smoothness with only 30 FPS, without it you can't. That's what's all about, it's not about having an issue with refresh rate. And this is not my issue, it's just how refresh rates, vsync, FPS and 60Hz monitors work. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
