Hello!

I know it's just a small step and not really that big of an achievement, but I feel like sharing with someone who will understand the passion behind it.

So... I have obtained my Glider Pilot License! (SPL - sailplain pilot license here).

(Potato quality photos warning!)

Cockpit prior the exam flight. Nice and ready:

Silly me being a tad too emotional after passing:

Didn't get any during-flight photos due to nature of the flight obviously, but if people would like to see some I may get some next time.

The aircraft is polish made SZD-9 Bocian glider (Link to WIKI).

Anyhow, as I said, I am very happy and just wanted to share. Sorry for that. Take care and fly high!

Good for you!

Congratulations!

I have a friend who has probably clocked 100s of hours in gliders during his teen years and after going along on one joy flight with him, I can easily understand how big of an achievement it is to master such a skill. I hope this only encourages you further and I'm sure all of us here at AVSIM are immensely proud that you feel we belong to the same passion you are so ecstatic about.

Cheers!

I need to decide if I want to continue into PPL or get into rotorcrafts. Regardless which one, I plan to start the course around March.
