FS Global Real Weather For XP10

Recommended Posts

Good news for me.

I switched drivers and now all pauses are gone!!!!!

Flew from 300 ovc to clear skies and back to 300 ovc. All smooth now.

It looks like using the wrong drivers will cause problems with X-Plane 10.

Which ones are you using now?

I removed drivers with utility in Safe mode 1st. Then installed the 350.12.

I use it for FS9 and its the best WX program Ive used so far. Seeing WX in the distance then flying into it adds much to the realism. Plus the localised wx is a nice touch.

What made you think this would be a helpful piece of info in this thread, which is about the only source of information on this products performance in xplane 10?

This is about as useful as me posting that my 6 year old son peed on the toilet floor again.

Unnecessarily harsh, the guy was just making an observation on his experiences. He is not flaming or trolling

I didn't think he was trolling or flaming. But the product has been out quite a while now for xp and still next to no definitive information on it available if it has improved, is it still stuttering etc. I think quite a few ppl are on the fence on this one and most of us really want a good weather engine, considering the xp engine sucks balls and the level of frustration about fsgrw in several posts this thread.

It just struck me as odd, to the point of a little frustration even, that someone would find it informative to post how well it performed in a completely different sim in the thread "FS Global Real Weather For XP10". Just an observation, take it as you will.

I am using it and loving it. The stuttering issue was solved a few weeks back, its now very smooth. There is a brief pause when weather is injected but for me it's minor. There is still only three layers but that is an X-Plane limitation for the moment. Overall I am enjoying the more realistic weather which combined with SKymaxx v3 makes for a very immersive experience

I can second this. Seems to work well, especially with SMP clouds. The stuttering issue in XP10 was fixed in the latest build of FSGRW. It does a good job of injecting r/w upper winds. The only drawback is that it cannot set accurate upper-level temperatures from the current forecast. This is not the fault of the program, but an XP limitation. Temperatures aloft cannot be injected into XP by an external program - the sim calculates upper temps based on the current surface temperature, by applying a standard lapse rate. Hopefully that will change in a future version of X-Plane.

Relax, there is a very simple explanation for it.  An active thread will appear on the front page as "Recently discussed forum topics:"  this field is limited to a certain amount characters so you only see the start of the topic title. basically like this " FS Global Real Weather...."

This is why regularily people comment in threads without realizing, or realizing to late, the subforum.  So there is no greater evil and a limitiation of the board software ;)

Does FS global weather allow you to see the SMP storms on the horizon ?
