Is this common in the FS business?

On one hand they tell you that its basically finished and only needs polished up a bit. Then they tell you how long that would take and would you buy the unfinished product. What a joke,if they have 100% of your money what would make anyone think that it would ever be truly finished? I'll pass....

Highly professional Beta team ....VERY positive ......'awesome piece of art!..Visual Model is fantastic ..will be unparalleled..superb..is very realistic No wonder this is a Russia based company. This self-adulatory language smacks of best examples of communist propaganda. :-lolMichael J.

thats just the same typical marketing BS you hear everywhere from the TV, radio, newspapers, etc.

>thats just the same typical marketing BS you hear everywhere>from the TV, radio, newspapers, etc.Perhaps, but there is a difference between a chewing gum advertising and flight simulation. I have to say I don't recall this sort of an 'advertising' language with other simulation products known to me. They still 'advertise' but the language is much more subtle, directed at technical crowd rather than hyper active teenagers.Michael J.

Press Release: Airbus Industries September 2005.To: All A380 Release CustomersAirbus Industries is making significant strides towards the completion of the testing phase of the A380 aircraft. So far, our test pilots have given great reviews regarding this revolutionary aircraft, many calling it a work of art. The test pilots have only found a few *minor* issues with the aircraft. Most of the issues are cosmetic and not critical to your *average* customer (i.e. seats are not bolted down properly, lavatory doors don't close, paint peels off after 5 flights, cabin windows fall out when banking left, pressing wrong FMC button may cause catostrophic engine failure, cooking passenger meals may occasionally cause cabin to spontaneously combust into flames...you know, silly things like those). We're pretty much sick of testing this aircraft, and we're counting on the fact that you are sick of waiting for it (and you're not too bright) So, we kindly ask you to take the following poll:1 - Deliver the aircraft to you "as is" in a "technical release" at full price, so you can test it for us.2 - Keep testing and trying to fix those silly little cosmetic things, so when you take delivery it works as it should (don't choose this one!)Take the poll at www.airbus.com!Regards,I.M.A IdiotVP. ROFLMAO !:D :DI was thinking last night, I wonder if any of the beta testers of the Major Slime,(sorry `Captain Sim`) product would care to confirm they did actually say those things? Not that I'd ever call Captain Sim liars or anything.;-)So to summarise:1: Captain Sim is about to release another sub-standard product on the community2: They tell you in advance so you can't get your money back3: The beta testers are more interested in sycophancy than in doing the job4: If you spend the money on Captain Sim products you will NOT receive the product you think you do.Right, so get past the negativity I got to thinking like this:Captain Sim should not receive a penny from the sale of the Technical Release until it's fixed and Fit for Sale, but we can all agree that the best form of beta testing is to put it out there in he community?OK, so here's a suggestion: Allow Captain Sim to put out the Technical Release, but all the proceeds from the sale should be held in an interest-bearing account by an impartial Third Party. When - and only when - the majority of the purchasers are satisfed the bugs have been ironed out and that the product actually does deliver according to the hype will the impartial third party release the funds to Captain Sim. The interest is donate to a charity of CS's choosing - giving them good PRThere will need to be an independent forum, NOT controlled or moderated by Captain Sim, for technical issues to be frankly discussed.IF Captain Sim have nothing to hide they should agree to this, and I wonder whether Avsim would be the best place to hold the money - and the discussions?Allcott

Here we go again......Captain Sim bashing, not to mention one or two references to 'Russian' and 'communism'.......all par for the course. And what about those who bought the PMDG747......charlie testers?! And the Captain Slime comment is uncalled for.

A company that responds to support and refund requests with threats and intimidation is slime. And if you are going to quote me, please do it right: MAJOR Slime. Thanks for your contribution. I guess you might be one of the beta testers? Are you responsible for any of the suck-up comments?Allcott

Dear flightsimmers,Thanks for your input and kind words, very appreciated. The current results of the poll are available realtime 24/7 at: http://www.captainsim.com/user/wap.htmlThe main point of the poll is to hear the community opinion. So, please do not consider the poll as a sign of approaching Technical Release. Captain Sim's default option is #1 (To continue scheduled development and testing in closed Beta sessions). And we'll switch for option #2 only if more than 80% of the poll respondents vote for that.

Allcott, you are a betrayer, and as ex-Soviet military we know how to deal with those. Major Slime.

I'm not even going to dare to comment on the thread subject.I would point out though, that there have been many posts in the past from beta testers for CS that have plainly stated that the issue is not the fact the beta testers don't file reports, but more a case of what action CS actually takes as a result of those reports. So, I'd say number 3 above is for the most part a bit unfair. As for holding account idea, it'd never work. The solution is simple; enough beta testers (50+), use of a beta forum so they can all see what each other is testing and reporting and a methodical approach to resolve each issue as it is raised.Of course, the end result would be a bug free release that nobody will talk about.............who said there's no such thing as bad advertising?http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...BANNER_PAUL.jpg

>Allcott, you are a betrayer, and as ex-Soviet military we>know how to deal with those. >>Major Slime.Ah! You got one of those too..?! :-) "By their words, ye shall know them"Allcott

Forgot to mention that these Soviet ex-military also labelled me a "racist". Jaap.

>Thanks for your contribution. I guess you might be one of the>beta testers? Are you responsible for any of the suck-up>comments?>>AllcottNo is the answer to both questions.I object not to constructive criticism of payware products but to the tedious and totally predictable responses that people like you come up with every time Captain Sim or other 'hate figures' are mentioned. A picture of someone huddled over their PC dripping in slime waiting to pounce ...slime, communist, Russian etc etc etc boring boring boring.....while the big wide world goes on outside their stuffy rooms, absolutely unaware of the tiny inner world of this tiny mind huddled over his tiny little pc.
