Featured Replies

Hi guys and gals, look at this:http://www.libertysim.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3377http://www.francesim.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=56433Those shots have been taken at IFC Blackpool. Can anyone read German ?They might be the very first pictures of FS10...The effects look awesome !Those shots were featured in the German magazine "Flightexpress".A French journalist also reported in Micro Simulateur that some preview screenshots of FS10 were screened by MS at IFC Blackpool. He reporterd that those two shots showed "a wet runway and a coastal city reflecting into the sea".../)_/). _ Cl

Thought it was a joke at first....Hmmm interesting :)

You can't be serious ??What proof do you have those shots were taken at IFC Blackpool ??They *might* be the first pics of FS10.... So What ??Everything in that, or any other "magazine" is pure speculation.Personally, I think this is a hoax and I for one am not gullible enough to fall for it.Maybe I should have simply posted, Troll Alert......Cal (CYXX)

Clement is a long time poster and is excited about the prospect of FS10, as many of us are. What's to be gullible about? Fine don't believe they are FS10 pics, no sweat off our brows. :-rollRegards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International

I dont see anything in these pics that tells me its a hoax, this could very well be it. The quality of the pics are not too good, would be interesting to them in a higher quality.OHN

I think they look pretty real. The runway photo looks like there's more dense autogen effect, more flat runways, new wet runway effect (and probably braking action I'm guessing), similar clouds/rain/aircraft to Fs9 (hopefully with smoother wind transitions!).The skyline shot definitely looks more real than Fs9 to me. New water effects (kinda reminds me of "Far Cry" screenshots), hill on the left looks good (though still pretty big autogen trees I think), the sky kinda looks photoshopped (but maybe that's just the contrast/photo).If I had to bet my Fs9 system on it I'd go for real, but not by much.P.

these are shots of what is shown to be possible by the MSFS team, they are by no means FS10 shots.if i understood correctly, they were used in a presentation to show what is possible, not to show what'll be in fs10.cheersJP.

Right. The presentation was more on technology demonstration than product preview. It was focused on some of the many, many things you can do with DirectX to create a more immersive world. The images, though, are in fact representative of what was shown at IFC. How many of these will wind up a future version of FS, who knows?

If that is it, i think my little computer would be in trouble!!

Hi Tdragger, as long as the Game Studios implement a 64-bit version and/or FS'X' makes use of multithreading, whatever happens is fine with me. :-) Looking forward as usual... Good luck and kind regards Jaap

On a kinda related theme is anyone a beta-tester for the new version of Fs? I almost put my name to the Microsoft beta form - http://beta.microsoft.com/ - requesting flight simulator. And if they were they obviously won't offer details but would they even be allowed to tell us that they're beta-testing it??P.

Unfortunately the article is hard to read because of the missing lines, but it says something like: Microsoft 'might' be taking more time as usual to come with some ground breaking new features :)))hope they are really screenshots of FS10 cause they look awesome !Eric

OK, so how did the French get the insode scoop and photos of FS10 before U. S. magazines? Not sure if I believe this one!:-lol :-lol :-lolScott

"On a kinda related theme is anyone a beta-tester for the new version of Fs?"Understand that a beta, when it does happen, is almost always covered by a non-disclosure agreement. Essentially that means participants aren't allowed to reveal their participation, or what happens/happened during the beta. The NDA's are eventually lifted, but with restrictions which can be anything that the software vendor deems appropriate. Most software providers release their NDA so their beta testers can post screenshots and make general comments about the product--obviously it serves as good advertising for the vendor. For the participant, it's probably the least they can do given that they had the chance to be first to see the product and often end up with a free copy of the product. An earnest beta tester more than pays for the product by the hours (and often it is tens of hours) they spend reviewing the product. Some may think this type of "work" is fun in disguise, but often it involves clicking every link, or every button, or going through every menu every few days or whatever the vendor's build cycle is. And that is followed often by having to produce a written report on the "experience". Almost always there are testers who are just in it for the freebies, but they are usually never invited back. -John
