I have a small problem with version 1.5 of FS2Crew for the Majestic Dash-8. When I reach top of climb then the FO keeps saying "One thousand to go. Alt Sel." He continues to do so even after leveling off. Only way to stop him is to dial in a higher altitude. Is this a problem only on my system or have others also had this problem?

I haven't heard of that one before. 

 

Ensure your FS Units of measurement are set to "Feet" and not "Meters" for altitude.

I had the same problem.  It was constant repeat of "alt sel".  Seemed to happen in the climb and level vs. descent and level.  Also, I heard the minimums callout well above the setting for DA/BARO...like 5000 ft above it.

 

Please note two important changes to my system.  1) Now using the PRO version.  2) Using new LINDA version to eliminate the voice cutout problem with VRInsight MCP hardware.  It works btw.

So you still have this problem?

 

If so, did it only start happening with the Pro version?

I did a test flight yesterday with the Pro version and FS2Crew but without LINDA (I'm also currently beta testing the new LINDA version which solves the audio problem with FS2Crew). Without LINDA there were no repeated "One thousand to go. Alt Sel" callouts. So this seems to be something that happens only with this new version of LINDA...

Hi Bryan

 

You will have seen that I have issued a fix for the broken/missing voice responses for LINDA (2.6.6) and Q400 modules (2.2) when working with FS2Crew (1.6) and the VRI Combo 2 MCP panels. I have achieved this my changing the internal LINDA timings to give FS2Crew more time to output the full messages.

 

The only remaining issue is the repeated FO call reported above. The FS2Crew FO 'thousand to go. Alt Sel' appears to my ear to be truncated to 'thousand to go. Alt Se..' (alt sir). Can you advise what you use to trigger this message and what may cause it to repeat?  What happens if the whole message is not fully replayed? Please PM me if you wish.
