AISmooth

Featured Replies

Browsing through the file library today, I noticed a new version of AISmooth so I downloaded and installed it, placed both files in the modules folder as recommended. Launched FS and now get a message saying that AISmooth is not allowed to access a unregistered copy of FSUIPC. I made sure I have the latest version of FSUIPC (3.5), reinstalled AISmooth and still no luck, anyone else having this issue? I had no problems using an older version of AISmooth.

HiYes I have exactly the same issue. I had FSUIPC3.48 and received the non-access message. Downloaded and installed FSUIPC 3.5 thinking that would improve the situation but still says program is unregistered. There seems to be no e-mail contact address to the author included in the documentation.Hopefully some key to access the program via FSUIPC will be given.CheersMike

Well you see I did do that, but the program does not do its job, while it does see that FS is running it doesn't seperate the aircraft at all. I was flying in Vegas and all of a sudden I see three aircraft trying to land at once.If anyone here still has AISmooth 1.0, could you please email it to me, I deleted the original thinking it would work fine, [email protected]

I have the same problems...the new AI Smooth runs alongside FS9 yet shows no aircraft as being monitored at busy airports. Change back to v1.00 and everything works fine. So, either you need to have a registered copy of FSUIPC or the author is going to provide an unlocking key of some description. But why this isn't specifically mentioned in the V1.10 docs we may never know....

FSUIPC needs to be registered, from memory. It doesn't cost much to do it and this problem goes away.

That's as maybe, Max....But, if the author decides that his 'new' revision of AI Smooth requires a registered version of FSUIPC, then it would have been courteous to have mentioned that in the 'Read Me' file.I too have the same issue, but, not being a credit card user, it is more of a pain in the neck to attempt to pay for registration of FSUIPC as there is of course no provision for oversees users to pay by debit card. Unless you know of, and can tell me of a UK based website that will accept debit cards to purchase this module, then I will have to continue to use the unregistered FSUIPC.

helloHope this is of some help, i took this from the Simarket terms and conditions pageDebit Cards You do not need a PayPal account to pay for your purchase as a credit or debit card may be used without subscribing. I really like AISmooth. The FSUIPC docs have hinted for some time that an external program could provide more advanced control of AI aircraft through the FSUIPC interface and I'm glad someone finally stepped up to the plate and did it. I realize the question of whether you need a registered FSUIPC might be bothersome, but there's a lot a parameters to tweak in AISmooth and I get good results on my setup. I can't entirely eliminate all the go-arounds or AI interference with my approach, but AISmooth cuts them down substantially. Considering the dumbness of the "stock" FS9 AI and the complexity of controlling large amounts of AI at a busy airport with the still somewhat limited parameters available through FSUIPC, I think the AISmooth author did a great job and I'm thankful for his free program.AISmooth however should definitely be used with the increased taxi speed utility in FS9 Configurator. Another program having a symbiotic relationship to AISmooth is AFCAD, which allows you to edit for more efficient AI operations at a particular airport (e.g., setting landing/takeoff runways, eliminating bottleneck single runways, overlays, etc.) but you have to know what you're doing and be sure to back-up all the way.

Yes the readme states unregistered version is good enough, sorry but I am not willing to shell out the money for a module, as good as it is, I just do not want to pay for it.Jim - Do you think you could email me verison 1.00? [email protected] would greatly appreciate it.

Odd, did you just try to send the .exe file? If so could you please zip and then send, GMAIL does not allow .exe files to be sent, they must be zipped if to be sent.

How odd, do you have MSN or something, or some webspace you could upload it to? I use the same address for MSN, if you have it, add me.
