As we wait for news on the Queen II, I came across this unique film. There are, of course, numerous 744 related documentaries to be found on YouTube, but this is the first I have seen that covers a D-check in this kind of detail.  The commentary is intelligently done by a pair of mechanical engineers.  Have fun!

Thanks for posting this, Andrew. I was at BA Engineering on the VC-10 and Concorde hangar next door to the 747 and B707 hangar when this used to take place on the -100 and -200 series, at Heathrow. They later moved that repair facility to Cardiff.

Worked down here for a few weeks on  the D check for G-VIIM, cool place, the gear swings are pretty impressive!
