September 18, 200520 yr hey, thank FS-KBT :) i'm just the messenger and all :(it's on Avsim too now :)cheersJP.
September 18, 200520 yr I'll grab this one, it looks very nice. Can you use this new panel with the other P3 planes? Or is this panel specifically for the NOAA plane?PS: That EP-3E Aries plane looks cool.
September 18, 200520 yr i think you could use it with the other p3's,though i do believe it is WP-3D specific, which probably is why this version took a bit more time.the plane still is a handfull when taxiing though,i wonder if it's my setup or the contactpoints.it does however look and fly great :)cheersJP.
September 20, 200520 yr Author I downloaded the WP-3D Hurricane Hunter and I must have had a major brain cramp. After I installed the plane, I flew it for a while and enjoyed it. Today I went to fly it again and noticed that the engine sound was that of a reciprocating engine instead of a turbo prop. I could have sworn that when I first flew it that it had the turbo prop sound. Hence the brain cramp. I deleted it and re-downloaded but I still have the recip engine sound and not the turbo prop. Have I lost it or is the plane supposed to have the turbo prop sound? After all, it does have turbo prop engines. Any body know what's going on here? Thanks for any help.Jim
September 20, 200520 yr You needed the sounds from one of their other P-3 packages from what I recall reading.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. September 20, 200520 yr yes,it uses the sounds from p3c_gmax so that needs to be in your aircraft folder too :)it is rather poorly explained in the readme with the zip ;)cheersJP.
September 20, 200520 yr Author Thanks for the info. So if I understand correctly, I have to download the P-3C (71MB) just so I can use the engine sounds for the hurricane hunter?Jim
September 20, 200520 yr >Thanks for the info. So if I understand correctly, I have to>download the P-3C (71MB) just so I can use the engine sounds>for the hurricane hunter?Yes. From your point of view it probably doesn't make sense, but this is actually the smart way to go about it: the designers assume that you've already downloaded the P-3C base package (which has been around for a while) and hence want to save everyone's bandwidth by releasing the variants without elements common with the base package (in this case the sounds) :)
September 20, 200520 yr PS: That EP-3E Aries plane looks cool.I'm looking forward to that one - I left VQ-1 about a year before the first Aries aircraft arrived. My P-3 flights were on the EP-3B. Great aircraft - though I must confess the EC-121N & C-121J were my favorites.
