EVO Installation Question .... I'm Confused .... Which EVO?

Featured Replies

OK.  Donated to EVO and tried the first generation many moons ago.  Didn't like it so removed .... BUT ..... kept up with later releases and updates.  I now want to give it a go once more.

I have FS9EVO, FS9EVO v2, and EVO 2015 ....... so ...... are these "cumulative" or can I just install the EVO2015 with updates and give it a whirl?

Buying a new car wasn't as complicated with keeping up with this thing!

Hi Gwillmot,

just install Evo 2015 + updates, everything is there (well except the bits I might have forgotten, eg just found out I missed the water textures :). Do you need a new link?

Cheers,

Sascha

Jon, sorry, I haven't gotten round to do doing a proper update announcement. Yes, you only need the updates. Some bits I forgot to include like the water and some small changes (eg mountains and a few clouds).

Cheers,

Sascha

Sorry Sacha, I don't seem to have those.....

I have :

autogen 3d lights

Evo2015/Evo batch start

Scenery world texture/autumn/heavywinter/summer_base/winter

Texture

then installation txt + batches

Am I missing something? Nothing that resembles water, mountains or clouds.

Are they part of the "Texture" folder?

The dropbox should look like this!

In the Evo2015 directory there should be the following folders:

- autogen_3D-lights

- scenery_world_texture

- texture

- updates

and some files:

- Backup & installation instructions_Evo2015

- configuration tweaks_Evo2015

Try opening your link in a new browser, yesterday a user had a problem opening the link in LINUX and they also saw only part of the content.

Best,

Any chance you will introduce an auto installer for your texture sets?  I have never been able to correctly install everything necessary to get the FS9 to run with EVO.  My scenery load get to 71% and just stops.  Fortunately I have a complete backup of my system.  I think there may be some misunderstanding of what files need replacing on my part.  If you will forgive my saying so, the instructions could be more detailed.  Please don't be offended,  Many brilliant applications, FSUIPC among them, suffer from inadequate documentation.  Maybe my intellect is just inadequate, as well.

Thanks for what you have done for the simming community.
