January 22, 201610 yr We, be on our way to Ireland....but first, have to hold for departing, and in-bound...and jet fuel is burning, gulp, gulp....the suits get antsy.... Left click the pics, to actually see the night life, lol! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taking to the active; Lining up...and reading off the take-off checklist... A glance to the left wing...at the rest of the suckers, waiting for their turn... .....and hello and good-by, Chicago....heading home... Final shots of departure, and climb...as the most helpful Cabin Crew start taking orders for Irish Whiskey and more! The Irish lasses, look beautiful as usual....nothing like an Irish smile, and a twinkle in the eye... "Can I take your order, sir, ma'am?".... "Good night all, from the cockpit, out..."
January 23, 201610 yr Would have loved to see this in a 707, rather than an MD-11 which Aer Lingus never had. Nevertheless, atmospheric pics. Rick Almeida

January 23, 201610 yr They do in my world... But you being such a great FS9 exponent, I'd have thought you had a 707 in your hangar, and would have rolled that out? I stand roundly thrashed with the shillelagh, and doused with poteen!!! I'll go back to my den to listen to ceilidh on RTE!! I actually do, Rick...and instead of you flailing yourself...just tell me which airport you are closest to, ..and we'll drop in, and pick you up, for the trip to the Belle Isle....for the 15 year old malt is flowing back in the First Class...oh..and I think they are about to serve the Prime Rib, with roasted Califlower petals, and cracked pepper, mashed potatoes, with a dollop of garlic butter. Sprigs of Irish mint, no extra charge! Irish coffee with Bailey's, confections to be sure... At Air Lingus, we treat you like royalty! After dinner, here are the Bose Quiet Comforts, and assorted magazines, music of your choice, from 30 offering channels...extra pillows if required. Rick, enjoy the flight! Captain Mitch Fantastic shots Mitch!! Is that default night lighting ? It is, Lamar...a 'la EVO2015, with the bringing it into the new year (2016) updates.... I did all the updates, less the clouds. I run REX2004 Extreme for those. Cheers, and welcome aboard the gorgeous MD-11, 'The Queen'....
January 23, 201610 yr Not all that far from EIDW, Mitch, depending where you are landing at, nr EGCC. Good thing it is is fairly late here, now, as with that very inviting menu, begorrah, I'd sure be raiding the pantry now, but I would not say no to say a Jameson or a Bushmills 12-year malt. Would go down nicely. About to land Rwy 20 at WBKK(Kota Kinabalu) from YPPH(Perth) in a Qantas CS707-300C, So should be free as soon as aircraft is secured. I'm sure Air Movements can handle the 6 containers. Rick Almeida

January 23, 201610 yr Mitch What happened to you? Did you get caught up in that snowstorm on the East track? I hot-footed it across from Kota, dragged myself out of the cold wintry night into O'Malley's bar in O'Connell Street, headed for a dark corner, and waited............waited...........for you. I guess it was the snowstorm. Rick Almeida

Hi Rick...well..actually it was a no show, because of a force so MUCH MORE powerful than any storm that nature could front on the East Coast..it was the sound of my wife's voice coming from the Master Bedroom, with the words; "Hon, for gawd's sake..turn that box off..and COME TO BED!". You don't mess with a force of nature, of this magnitude, Rick. You just don't... I ended the flight...and snuggled in bed...
