Hi,

I've just reinstalled prepar3D but the scenery library is empty and I can't use any addons, that should be added in scenery library. I've also checked scenery.cfg. Fisrt it is normal but when I enter the game then it turns:

[General]

Title=FS9 World Scenery
Description=FS9 Scenery Data
Clean_on_Exit=TRUE

[Area.001]
Title=
Texture_ID=1
Local=Scenery\World
Layer=1
Active=FALSE
Required=FALSE

to this

lol  I've never seen that before.

What happens when you tick the box and then press ok  ?

Oh and Welcome to the Avsim Forums   :smile:

Never seen that before. Mind you, when I update Prepar3D, I always un/reinstall all of the modules. When you uninstalled Prepar3D, did you uninstall everything, including scenery. If so, when you reinstalled; did you reinstall core, content and scenery?

I've uninstalled everything (apddata/local - appdata/roaming  - programdata - program files and documents) and when I install again the same thing happens.

Sorry. What I meant was when you uninstalled, did you uninstall all of the Prepar3D items in Programs nd Features in Control Panel? If you did, did you reinstall all the modules (core, content and scenery)?

What size was the file you downloaded from Prepar3d website?

Vic

approx. 10 gb

Did you ever own any Orbx products? like for FSX or something?

Yes and when I install ORBX ftx global it works because this software adds lines in scenery.cfg manually but I can't add sceneries directly from scenery library

Did you run the P3D installer as Administrator? Did you use the setup.exe or the .msi file?

If you haven't, try installing it in it's own folder, not C:\ProgramFiles(x86) - be sure to use the setup.exe and run as administrator.

Have you tried deleting your scenery.cfg file, located in C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3? I believe the program will recreate the file. Perhaps there was a burp.

Also, you may wish to check and see just what is contained in the Scenery folder in the root of Prepar3D. If it is empty, or nearly so, then I would consider a possible corrupt installation has occurred. In this case, I would uninstall everything on your computer related to Prepar3D. Uninstall all modules from programs and features. Delete all Prepar3D related folders from ProgramData, Users\Roaming, Users\Local and Documents. Turn off antivirus and reinstall all of the modules, but not into the default location. This is the nuclear option and will require the most time. However, you could probably eat up a lot of time trying to salvage the current installation.

I've installed it in programfiles (x 86 )--> Lockheedmartin folder. And I run setup exe with adminstator rights.

Deleting scenery.cfg doesn't work. The scenery folder is normal. There are lots of files in it.

I think the problem is "empty scenery cache on exit"(it is checked as you see in the Picture) this may remove scenery library. Can you send me first second and third passages of your scenery.cfg
