AIRAC 1603 for PMDG A/C

Recommended Posts

KLAX ILS APPROACH 24L is not in KLAX.txt which is in SIDSTARS folder. I have reported this issue to Navigraph. This post is for informational purposes only.

Wouldn't it still be the database then?

You just wouldn't receive an ILS signal on approach (or even be cleared for this procedure by ATC).

Jeppesen generally remove procedures from their database when not available, this is reflected in the Navigraph data.

Thanks, I hadn't expected that they would remove a procedure that is still in place, just temporarily unusable.

As real as it gets, then. Time to try the RNAV. :spiteful:

Not really, check the entire notam list and you'll find the runway is also closed.  Just google FAA notam search... easy.

I have the 1603 AIRAC installed and I can still choose RNAV 24L and just the runway itself. I wonder why they would only drop the ILS approach then?

Simbrief handily compiles the entire NOTAM list.

Personally I cannot see the closure listed only ref to ILS and ALS:

LAX 11/180 (KLAX A3588/15) LAX RWY 24L ALS OUT OF SERVICE 1511210800-1610152359

LAX 11/175 (KLAX A3583/15) LAX NAV ILS RWY 24L OUT OF SERVICE 1511210800-1610152359

The easy source is here: https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch/

Just enter location(s) and you get a nice easy to read list and you can drill down and get plain language... really nice compared to the long TTY printouts I used to read through at Base Ops in the day.
