October 18, 200520 yr Caps off Guvnor, honest. Now lets take a look at what you say.Somebody with FDE skills, surely not ? Why should the "buyers" have to correct a commercial product, released with the claim of tested and flown by "real" pilots ? Surely this makes the buyers not buyers at all but beta testers ?As for the conceited ones who know all, I assume you direct this at Captain Sim themselves ? You only need to look at the many qoutes from bona fide and respected members to see it is indeed the Captain and comrades who are conceited, especially as one layman such as myself, would expect a commercial developer to have done his (her / a.n. other "real" pilots included) to have made genuine research ?I dont think this thread or aothers regarding C.S. are unfair, especially when you take into account there is nowhere else to voice your opinion / frustration, they pulled that outlet when people spoke the truth of what was going on and greeted with condesending and insulting replys.I do suspect strongly, CS simply dont care as long as they have your money. From experience, I've found this typical of many over the age of 18 from the former Soviet block, that said there are some fine fellows. CS and it's Oligarchs, seem to have let fame (and more important to them fortune) go to their head, even in Russia, they would not be forgiven for poor service and out and out lies, however, for as long as there are greedy western third party publishers feeding them with promised world wide sales and fat royalty cheques, why should they care about a few who sound like nagging wives ?Do svidanja Ash
October 18, 200520 yr Hey Crosswind, I don't agree that we're whiners, complainers, gripers and fussers that sound worse that a NAGGIN WIFE (whatever that is, but it sounds like you could write a thesis on it), conceited know-it-alls, and that we don't do our research before we blow our canons of hot air (btw, that could be the problem). We continue to complain because the issues and problems are still outstanding and the response by CS to the FS community has been rude, to say the least. billg
October 19, 200520 yr Commercial Member As I said, some have made valid points based on past experiences, however two main options still apply; (a) buy the product, or (:( do not buy the product. Also as noted, mistakes made are mistakes learned. Personally, I have bought one product from CS, and it was the 727, only because I teach "aircraft systems" on the 727. there were several shortcomings I agree, and yes the thing flew like a brick with rockets attached to it. i like many others posted my findings for inaccuracies which they never corrected....."there loss", for me several bad dollars spent, but I have also learned not to put much faith in another product of theirs too soon. Reviews and feedback from fellow simmers will be floating around after the c-130 is released, and this may or maynot encourage me to look at the long anticipated C-130.Customer Service is THE KEY FACTOR to maintaining good clientel with any product. For those intersted in the C-130, may it satisfy your needs.Regarding the whiners, gripers, fussers, etc. There are a given group of folks that usually have nothing positive to say about anything. i believe in constuctive criticism, I think it makes for a healthy argument, but when the "bashing" starts it makes the thread rather distasteful. If a developer>chooses not to take a lending hand, so be it. If simply helps>us more cautious in our future decision making process. For those of us who have already experienced the unconstrained joy of a Captain Sim customer experience, this IS our future decisionmaking process. As one who has done a lot of the aforementioned FDE "tweaking" for defective commercial products (often more along the lines of complete FDE re-engineering) I got tired of it. I can buy add-ons from a number of vendors that do not require me to write my own FDE to make them work.>Let us not forget the>conceited ones who claim to know everything, especially when>we do not do research before blowing our canons of hot air.Oh dear, there we go again about research. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you're the same girl who was (quite incorrectly) spouting off about the Majestik Dash-8 being certified by the JAA in another thread. Still trying to lecture folks on the value of proper research so soon after that? Tut tut.>There are some really valid points being made however, for the>bashers I guess they have never made mistakes and have been>PERFECT in everything that they do. Unfortunately. it make>take someone one or two tries to accomplish something that>pleases the general public.Captain Sim released a number of very imperfect products. But it wasn't a one-time shot...the real beef is that they showed little to no effort to correct the imperfections before moving on to fleece a new group of customers with a new poorly-crafted product. It's a recurring theme. CS has had their one or two tries times a hundred by now. But if you'd done some of that research you keep talking about you'd know that.Bob ScottATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-V L-300Santiago de Chile Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
