P3D FPS Drop below 5

Featured Replies

Man... Yesterday.. my sim had 40FPS in Princess Julianna.. where I was trying to recover my water fiasco.. With the help of REX I have recovered all my original files (World\texture folder) and I was having 40FPS. My old PC I get 30FPS.

CPU I7.7700 OC to 4.5Gz and GTX1070.

And all of a sudden it has dropped to 20FPS. I tried killing various process via Task manager...to see if it would back the FPS.. no luck so far.

Hmmm...  Man, I have my work cut out this weekend to do what Vic has suggested..to go back to basics... start with basic DLL and EXE and P3D.cfg and scenery.cfg and start adding stuff.

I have a 30 day old Acronis Backup of my C OS drive and my P3D folder... I do not want to do recover from this.

I removed my DLL.xml, EXE.xml from both my locations and I deleted the Prepar3D.cfg and Scenery.cfg and

loaded a saved flight (near TNCM Princess Julianna). I set my FPS to unlimited and got 19FPS

basically no addon scenery.. ...no add exe or dlls programs no AI nothing..

Hmmm..... This is intriguing. I may have to reinstall my nvidia driver? or uninstall client and reinstall client for P3D?

PS: I am operating my PC remotely via Team viewer... I usually see the FPS that I get on my home PC.  I need to confirm the drop in FPS is due to Teamviewer... But I was getting the home PC FPS via the Teamviewer... what I see on the home PC is what I see via the Remove software. Hmmm.. I can only confirm this when I go home tomorrow..

Graphic drivers are easier first step.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

Phew... I am back home and .I am glad to report my FPS is back to normal.. I suspect it was my teamviewer remote software... I am still not 100% sure.. I am going to test that out tomorrow

But my FPS is normal..

Now I need to focus on my water animation problem.. Tsk Tsk. :P
