April 21, 201610 yr Author Jim, is your question to me? If so i do not understand what do you mean by "where are all of the settings quoted above". Kris Not necessarily to you personally, I was just asking where the settings are located, whether in ASN, REX or both, where i can get the upper level clouds to show up. I think I may have already figured it out since last night I performed a flight where different levels of clouds were coming in. It have had to do with the specific weather patterns in the area I was in. Now that I have clouds showing up, I'm on the hunt for bad weather. lol -Jim Engage, research, inform and make your posts count! -Jim Morvay Origin EON-17SLX - Under the hood: Intel Core i7 7700K at 4.2GHz (Base) 4.6GHz (overclock), nVidia GeForce GTX-1080 Pascal w/8gb vram, 32gb (2x16) Crucial 2400mhz RAM, 3840 x 2160 17.3" IPS w/G-SYNC, Samsung 950 EVO 256GB PCIe m.2 SSD (Primary), Samsung 850 EVO 500gb M.2 (Sim Drive), MS Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit
April 21, 201610 yr The settings i listed above are ASN. In P3D v3 i have detailed clouds set to ON and maximum density set. In REX 4 TD w/SC i have 2048 size set for upper level clouds.

Vic Good point. As I was going through all the settings last night, I found that feature. Does using historical weather boost performance at all, since it isn't "live" weather? -Jim I really haven't paid attention to it. I would think it would be similar - the program reads the historical database just as it reads the live metars and injects the weather accordingly. I usually set up the time and date, load the plan, tune COMM1 to 122.02 and check the destination weather to see if it will be what I like when I arrive. Then I change the time to a bit earlier to compensate for flight time and then fly. You can get some great IFR practice that way. April 24, 20179 yr Hello! I had the same problem with the low level clouds and I managed to svolve it without reinstalling P3D. Be aware that it helped me, but will not necessarily help others. A while back I bought TOGA Envtex, but quickly abandoned it cause of poor textures... So I gave it another go and installed textures set from Envtex and voilà!!! low stratus and other low level clouds came back! Hope this info helps others, but I would not recommend buying TOGA only because that... Cheers!
