Autogen Settings and stuttering on the approaches

HT enabled does add a few options. He's tried four jobs with no AM, so a full-on main thread to a core didn't help, unless something was wrong in the addon setup. Perhaps it's baulked in some way by addon behaviour due to being allocated only one thread, so he's going to try giving addons two cores. I'm not sure he can get much more out of it as it stands.

Yeah I get what you mean. It's probably unlikely that its the addons causing the stuttering in the first place.

Nonetheless like in my system as long as I allocate the first core to P3D, it will inevitably stutter. Moving around the jobs with different but proper AMs might help if its a particular core causing it.

Since the initial AM was 14, maybe try using an AM that excludes the 2nd core (e.g. AM=13). Worth a shot.

I had the same experience today after a 4,5 hours trip from Dubai to Athens in SLI with 364.72 and the PMDG77W

Approaching ILS03R FPS dropped to 16-17fps and stutter was very bad all up to 29fps. VAS was at 3.3GB and only 10% AI. (with Vpilot and Emirates software running)

Now shutting down the sim and restart from a saved setup and the same occured. Restarting PC on the other hand and the FPS increased to 23-29fps and only small microstutters.

None SLI and fps was 30-36fps and even less microstutter.

No other background processes to my knowledge as Defender and firewall is disabled . Only ASN on a network PC

So could this be Vpilot or the SmartCars from emirates fault ?

AM=85 HT on

(SLI is still a strange thing all though the smoothneeth is getting there but i saw up to 85% on both cards in SLI on the ILS approach  while with a single card  it did not go above 85% with the same scenario)

FPS also about 20% lower in SLI vs Single

hmm

Normally i do smaller 1-2 hours flights and have no issues

See what performance you get when you reverse the flight. Try eliminating dlls from the xml or eliminating complex scenery to be sure there's nothing asking for too much memory allocation.

Thanks Steve.

Never thought about that. I do have FSDG and Aerosoft greeks airports activated as well. I just did not think they could contribute to my stutters on the final.

Maybe its the scenery (older ones - bad converted)  that just sometimes causing this by it-self. (LGAV Flytampa) ?

For instance having maxed out in (no dynamic reflections and some shadows off) Dawn-Dusk FSDG-LGTS which is very nice btw i have 45fps in the Dash8 in SLI .(add 10-15 % in none SLI but not with all settings) is silky smooth.

Try that with a single card at dusk and let me know if you have long frames or stutter

Aerosoft Skiathos has some elevation problems and not yet relased for P3Dv3 but i had very ver long FPS and stutter even with 35 fps. (Water reflections all on) on a single card . Going SLI and it whent away (still no landing beacuse of compatibel issues).

Those longhauls where you have 1GB free VAS and still getting stutter on approach is hard to crack.

I just went back to the FSX method mentioned by Steve about only activating those scenerys you need for the flight.

So far so good

Thanks
