May 19, 201610 yr Commercial Member If I am in On-line Steam Mode and Steam site or my Internet goes down is it possible to switch to Steam Off-Line mode to use Xplane10? In my experience, it's seamless. To be fair, I've realized that I'm doing something different than what is being described above. I leave my computer running all the time, 24/7. Even my laptop only goes to sleep, it never (rarely) gets rebooted. So, Steam is launched in the background typically when I have an internet connection, which means it's launching in online mode. From that point, it no longer cares about whether it's connected to the internet. Whether at home, or on my laptop, my connection can come and go, which it most certainly does on my laptop - and I can browse within my Steam library and launch and play games without having to specifically switch to offline mode. There are a few caveats to this method, the least of which is that it only happens on a computer that's never fully shut down, or only ever started/rebooted while an internet connection is present. If I were to reboot my laptop, for example, without a connection, then yes, I'd need to select 'offline' mode. But even then, X-Plane is fully capable of running in offline mode in Steam. May 19, 201610 yr Jimmy,I did a test and took 3 screenshots.Initially, I am in Steam OnLine mode. All ok.Turn PC OFF.I disconnected my internet connection.Turn PC ON.No popup from steam. OK, as expected.I can just wait one minute or double click the Xplane ICON to start Xplane10.1. Then I get a Steam screen telling me ... Connecting to my Steam Account with my User Account login info / password xxx.2. Then I get a Steam screen telling me it could not connect to the Steam network.Retry or Start in Offline mode. So, I selected Start in offline mode.3. Then I get a Steam screen saying it is (again) connecting Steam account (my user name login XXX) same as item 1 above.4. Then I get a screen saying Steam is currently OFFline Mode.To go Online, select Steam->Go Online, connect to the internet and restart SteamI have no more choices.Xplane10 will not start. Is that what you see? Note: while testing FSX, P3D and Xplane products my PC is rebooted often every day. Edit : same thing if Steam site goes down ... May 20, 201610 yr Vincent, "That's what u want to see you are in offline mode, just go to your library tab and play" That was what I was missing. I did not try anything except going to the Steam menu at the top. Thanks for the follow up and answer. Much appreciated. Have a good evening. Best Regards, Vaughan Martell PP-ASEL KDTW
