January 11, 20179 yr Roman, are we thinking to use this app for the race? or sticking with current methods? Good question! Guess it all depends if anyone is going to fly FS9 -or- Just stick with FSHost to keep SOPs the same. Hmm? FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap
January 11, 20179 yr I think we (AVSIM) are all mostly on FSX or P3D. I would prefer to use JoinFS going forward. The network settings has password option if we felt the need to restrict access. Probably should test that. But it might be cool if SOH, AVSIM, Flightsim were all connected in JoinFS. Got to remember some operational details - such as when in the aircraft ailiasing window to use the "substitute" button not accidently hit the "follow" button. Hmmm. Right now I would vote for JoinFS. | Windows 11 | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | i9-14900K | RTX 4090 | 64GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 | 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | 2x 4TB Samsung 990 PRO M.2 | CORSAIR AX1600i ATX Titanium | LG C2 42 Inch 4K OLED |
January 14, 20179 yr Author For the purposes of testing, I've made my 'server' JoinFS a hub and passworded it. It'll be tricky to work out so I'll tell you...rtw. Neat eh? The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 14, 20179 yr I want to install JoinFS on my P3D server. However, I have the P3D session password protected and want to keep the password security. How do I do that with JoinFS? My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.
January 14, 20179 yr Henry, I believe this ""may" do it - before hosting the session go to File | Settings | Network group, Check the password checkbox and supply the password. Then host as normal. Nothing is written in the manual. As a beta it may not work.. FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap

January 14, 20179 yr Author Heads up, the password protection isn't enabled at the moment. It will be though, in the near future. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 15, 20179 yr Heads up, the password protection isn't enabled at the moment. It will be though, in the near future. Yep, this is what I am finding in my testing. Will monitor for future release. Thanks! My MSFS 2020 repaints: Flightsim.to - Profile of HStreet Working on MSFS 2024 versions.

January 24, 20179 yr Has anyone heard from DC at all recently, to see if his VPN is even going to be up?
January 28, 20179 yr Heads up! Peter has done it again! :Applause: V1.1.4 (TEST) has been updated to V1.1.4 (STABLE) this morning. Grab your bits & bytes here . FS RTWR SHRS F-111 JoinFS Little Navmap
January 30, 20179 yr Has anyone heard from DC at all recently, to see if his VPN is even going to be up? The VPN is hopefully still up? I haven't tested it for a couple of months, but I haven't changed anything on the server since last year. In case it breaks I doubt I will bother to fix it, the setup is a mess. JoinFS seems to work very well, so my vote is to leave FSHost. But I won't break the VPN and FSHost server on purpose until after the race this year Klas Member of AVSIM's Around the World Race Team
January 31, 20179 yr Author FSHost? What's FSHost? So last year. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
January 31, 20179 yr DC, you made it!!! It would be a good backup since it seems most have decided to use joinFS.. After the race, yeah, take it down as I'm sure its one hell of a mess.
