Eaglesoft Flight Deck MD80 released!

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!Looks like another new MD80 series has been released and I would be glad if those who have bought it, could share your opinions. Lots of MD series have been produced lately (LAGO, MDMax, Flight1 - Coolsky, Eaglesoft) and would be great to know whether this one is the best now.I know the new one is just a panel, but that's the most important thing for me.

I wish someone did a dc-9 with the different variants and a full dynamic VC.

I wish Eaglesoft did a Gulfstream and left the DC9 series airliners to Lago and CoolSky. Actually the ES panel looks just like the Lago MadDog panel (I wonder how that happened). Sorry Eaglesoft something like this I wouldn't have ever expected from you guys. A 2D FS2000 looking panel next to all those wonderful jets on your websit looks interesting to say the least... I guess next we'll see PMDG doing a Cirrus 2D panel... Gotta love it.... :-lol

Dillon: No offence at all, but your kind of negative response about the Eaglesoft MD-80 panels is totally uncalled for. Lonny Payne worked VERY hard at making these panels as realistic as he can make them, and he's been working on them for a long time. So the appearance of other MD-80 panels during the development of his MD-80 panels is totally irrelevant because it's his project and he wants to complete it, and even if he started work on these panels after those other MD-80 panels appeared then it's HIS decision alone to do so, and heck it's better that he made those panels because variety is the spice of life, and I for one seriously believe that his panels shall prove to be one of the best MD-80 panels, possibly even better than some of those other MD-80 panels available at the moment, knowing the quality of Lonny's awesome freeware panels. And I for one don't find it strange at all that Lonny and Eaglesoft decided to go ahead with these MD-80 panels, 'cause they're an MSFS add-on company and they will develop for MSFS what they please. Did anyone find it strange that PMDG, the heavyjet masters, developed the B1900C and B1900D aircraft???? Obviously, NO!!!!So, with all due respect, please show Lonny some respect and appreciation for his excellent work. How would you feel if you developed these MD-80 panels yourself and you read the kind of negative post you just wrote in an MSFS forum????Lonny: Thanks a lot for your MD-80 panels and the rest of your truly excellent work, and I'll always appreciate and admire the wonderful work that you do for MSFS!!!! :-waveCheers,

Thank you for your kind words about my work. Yes, I have worked very hard on this panel package for over a year and I feel it is a great product. And it is not only one panel, there are 5 different variations of the MD-80 to choose from, Steam, to part steam part glass, or fully glass. From what I remember, all the other developers concentrated on one version. There is no problem with that, but I wanted to give people the full spectrum. Also, this is a project done by me (PAS) and distributed by Eaglesoft through a partnership. Who knows we may do some more of them.If you like the package, thank you and I hope you enjoy it. If you do not, thats ok as well. Thanks,Lonny

>I wish Eaglesoft did a Gulfstream and left the DC9 series airliners to Lago and CoolSky. Eaglesoft can't do a Gulfstream for legal reasons.

I'd have to agree that it's a little premature to be slamming something because of a screenshot. Give it a chance. It looks pretty good to me. billg

"Actually the ES panel looks just like the Lago MadDog panel (I wonder how that happened)."Not really sure what you mean by this. You want to elaborate? Lonny

Thanks,Thats all I ask for.Lonny

>Eaglesoft can't do a Gulfstream for legal reasons. Why's that? Does Gulfstream forbid from creating FS replicas of their planes?

Gulfstream doesn't share any data with developers, and I think they have threatened legal action against anyone who tries. If you create a freeware you could get away with it, but legally if you are going to sell it you have to get their permission

"Actually the ES panel looks just like the Lago MadDog panel (I wonder how that happened)."It happens because folks emulate the real world counterpart. Ever noticed how similar 737 panels look from all developers? It should be noted that Lonny has time in many different jets including the MD80. With time in many variants, its a "natural' for him to do the various MD80 panels.:-)

Is the panel fully compatable with the Jet City Lawndarts? Thx...

Good point ron ;-DI don't own any Eaglesoft products, but I wouldn't hesititate to buy one, if for no other reason than Ron Hamilton is a regular both here and elsewhere, and has developed a reputation for being both helpful and honorable about his products. The CX looks purty too ;-DI find it hard to believe their company would stand behind a so-so product.

Hello,The differences is air files and animation tags prohibit it from being 100% compatible at this time. It will work, but a few systems (fuel crossfeed etc.) might not work correctly. Since I have not done extensive testing I don't have a "list" of the problems, but I have done some preliminary testing and there are a few issues. The biggest is the engine perameters. I have been in contact with JCA and there is interest in making a version for the JCA, but I cannot promise anything and even if I persue this, it will be a while.Lonny
