BAC1-11 ... one more thing to say - !!

Featured Replies

My vote for the DM Flightsim BAC1-11 for FREEWARE ADDON OF THE YEAR!What a gem

I hope David sees all these happy campers. Everytime I see an appreciative post about the BAC 1-11, I can't help but join in. I mentioned in another post that I mainly just fly General Aviation, at least 95% of the time. However, when I installed this aircraft, I cannot help but going back to fly it over and over and over. It's simply the most enjoyable jet aircraft, I have had the oppurtunity to fly.Tremendous kudos to David for doing this and making it a gift to the community. I for one will be sending him an email stating the same. Please, anyone else who is enjoying this plane send David an email to thank him, it's persons like David who are keeping the freeware scene alive and well.[hr color=#000000][table border=0" width="98%" id="table1" height="4" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="2][td width=500]Jason CYOO - Formerly MYNN[br /]General Aviation Fan[br][br /]

I agree - it's an absolutely stunning piece of work and my thanks go out to David and whoever may have assisted him in producing this package. One of the first real-life jet flights I ever took was in a Courtline 1-11 - a bright orange and yellow one. Those were the days.......Toni.

Whilst I agree that the latest version of the BAC-111 is excellent, let's not forget that this gem was first released way back in early 2004. It is only now that the VC has been added that everyone seems to have taken any notice. Thanks to Dave and his team for not only created fantastic aircraft, but also keeping some of those old British Classics alive!

Graeme Butler

Yes Graeme, I had this one installed in 2004 and hoped, I thought, in vain for a VC. At the time Dave was not into VCs but he's a convert and lo and behold here is a VC version and no ordinary VC at that, as many have already testified. Dave could have gone payware on this but he is clearly a very generous man. Once more Dave, if you're reding this.. . . a big thank you. Incidentally, I flew in a Monarch Airline one in 1978 EGGW-LIMF, LIML-EGGW.

He went from not doing them at all directly to top-notch quality ones with the Trident and now the 1-11.

BUMP to these comments. That VC is just splendid. It's a statement to all payware and freeware developers that REAL bitmaps (and SHARP ones at that) can make up the entirety of you VC. I'm tired of the painted and worst one dimensional block colours of a number of VCs. This takes it to another level including the sharp graphics of the overhead.I've retrofited some RXP gauges and I've haven't been able to stop flying her. All day in fact (on vacation). Sorry PMDG and LDS yer in the hangar. This plane is just to beautiful to stop flying. And it hand flies very nicely as well.

Totally incredible, amazing, and fantastic effort by Mr. Maltby. I have used his a/c for 2 or 3 years now (mostly the VC-10 series--and the engines for that are deafening and exciting!) and they have gone from being fairly nice to quite stunning and beautiful with great architecture and engineering for MSFS. What a breathtaking VC he has made for the 1-11.A toast to Mr. Maltby for this BAC 1-11 as well as his VC-10s, Comets, and Tridents! JS

I echo all the above praises. This is bloody good. Thanks David.Jeff Greth's recent video showing a landing has converted me to 'VC' use and this one does it with no fps hit at all.http://chicago054.server4free.de/jeff/movi...toFrankfurt.wmvYes, 'Freeware Addon of the Year' is a good reccomendation, put me down for a vote. The Project Tupolev would have taken it if I could understand 'Cryllic'. but both a lesson to all payware.Dave T. .........On the Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/

My thanks as well. Great aircraft with a really great VC. Dave

Hi Big AlThe BAC 1-11 never had backlit gauges apart from the Artificial Horizon on some spec models (US 400 series). All the gauges where lit with pillar lights or floodlighting.Dave is still working out a way to light the gauges better but we have just got to learn FSDS3 first as the method we use has changedto a diffent method.I'm pretty sure that once he works it out there will be an update.Dave is very good with learning curves and works away in scilence until he's cracked it.He does not pop up every 5 minutes to ask questions like most (me included) ;o)Merry Christmas.RegardsRick
