  1. Ed, Stunning work as usual! Good to see you are still doing it ...
  2. Richard, Stop teasing us with these sneak peeks  Jack
  3. I've tried the Beta and found a small conflict with TacPack but Lefteris is on the case. I like this so much I have bought it. Do yourself a favour, sign up, grab one of the pre-defines cfg sets, try the beta, look at the Forum pics. The in app purchase isn't uncommon these days, it is just them protecting themselves from piracy.
  4. Thanks for the suggestion Pete, but it didn't help ... at least not by simply adding mine. .
  5. I updated my .Net Framework from 4.5.1 to 4.5.3 Preview ... still not working .

  9. There are some strange paths referenced in the model.cfg files too. It works so I am guessing that they are intentional. My question is that I have two files in the FSX root folder that seem to be associated with the Lear install, or are they something to be concerned about? Joystick_serial_294859826.dll & driver_10_ceta_92849.dll They certainly weren't there before. Are they required or are they malicious?
  10. The Fleet is in the Hangars link, then select the division button (window). Where, what and when you fly is entirely up to you. We are based in the Caribbean but have operations all over the world so you might need warmer clothing too
  11. Ed you old bugger......... still doing great work I see .

  14. Crew,There's nothing wrong with posting a screenshot to advertise a video. That said as I'm the one who posted the 'DC-7 Video' thread (which has Video in the title and has been viewed 602 times to date - hopefully not by people who didn't expect a video link in the thread), but not the author of it I would have had to make a non related screenshot just to post the thread. That would seem to be a pedantic application of the rules the alternative would have been to deny 602+ people the opportunity to view it.I'm sorry but I don't accept the 'if you don't like it don't stay' philosophy because nothing would change let alone improve. One final word on rules, rules are fine if they are justifiable and if the application of them is consistent. Many will believe that neither of those is the case.... particulary (and this isn't a pop at any individual moderator) some comparatively minor things get jumped on fairly quickly and other more serious things don't. 16. Mike,Thanks for that, it suggests that 100' (001) is probably the lowest then? 20. I don't usually paint non VA aircraft but I needed a change and this livery intrigued me, so I applied it to the Aerosim version.VP-BAT Boeing 747SP-21 Worldwide Aircraft Holdinghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147154.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/147155.jpgI think it's reasonably close to the pics at Airliners.net?I'm not completely happy with the tail logo so if anyone knows of a good resolution version I'll amend it.ThanksJackhttp://www.dolphin-star.net/TCA/Paintshop/ybanner_tca_FM.jpgIntel P4 3.06Ghz 533FSB HT| 2GB Corsair 333Mhz PC2700 DDR | Asus P4P800 Deluxe | 2 x 120GB Maxtor ATA-133| Sapphire ATI 9800pro 128MB | Creative Audigy 2

  22. An interesting thread indeed, the key bit being from your own post-<<"The only procedure that will work all of the time is;1) Invoke the default flight environmentTHEN2) Invoke the actual aircraft to be usedTHEN3) Invoke the actual flight environment to be usedUnless the developer mandates use of a specific baseline.FLT environment instead." (In which case, the baseline.FLT is the ONLY way to make sure that you're properly set up to start a flight.)We often start the baseline flight, move the AC to another part of the world and then re-save as another flight name without ever starting the engines so that the AC state is preserved as much as possible in the new location. This works well most of the time, but I agree that it does pose some small risk. But the main point of this entire thread seems to be that some people think it's ok to swap straight from one AC to another... and the fact is that this patently false because it's NOT a good idea. We all do it from time to time but many of us know that there is always a chance that it's a move that will blow up in our faces. It is not a myth, it's a simple fact of life when dealing with computers and saved variables.Saved variables from a saved non-default or non-baseling flight are just as liable to mess things up as the saved variables in memory if you swap AC in mid-air. It has nothing to do with aircraft of aircraft developers and everything to do with computers and how they save / retrieve information.Scott / Vorlin>>Examining the .FLT files in notebook is very revealing.Needless to say it did solve the problem. many thanks.Jackhttp://www.dolphin-star.net/TCA/Paintshop/ybanner_tca_FM.jpgIntel P4 3.06Ghz 533FSB HT| 2GB Corsair 333Mhz PC2700 DDR | Asus P4P800 Deluxe | 2 x 120GB Maxtor ATA-133| Sapphire ATI 9800pro 128MB | Creative Audigy 2
  23. Hi,I'm using a 3rd party aircraft that seems to have the autopilot active (on) by default when the aircraft loads. If you don't remember to deactivate it the take off roll lasts all the way to your destination. I'm hoping someone can point me to a missing line in one of the cfg files please?ThanksJackhttp://www.dolphin-star.net/TCA/Paintshop/ybanner_tca_FM.jpgIntel P4 3.06Ghz 533FSB HT| 2GB Corsair 333Mhz PC2700 DDR | Asus P4P800 Deluxe | 2 x 120GB Maxtor ATA-133| Sapphire ATI 9800pro 128MB | Creative Audigy 2
  24. Andy,Not that I have found however there are interesting sites that might help:http://flightaware.com/ you have to register but it is free and you can track by airport, flight or aircraft type.http://flightaware.com/resources/airport/KMIA an example of airport info http://flightaware.com/live/airport/KMIA example of included 'Pilot Weather' - this will give you a clue re winds. Even those airports not well covered generally have weather details (at the bottom right of the page). Also there are extensive 'live' ATC feeds available here:http://www.liveatc.net/index.phpHope this helps....Jackhttp://www.dolphin-star.net/TCA/Paintshop/ybanner_tca_FM.jpgIntel P4 3.06Ghz 533FSB HT| 2GB Corsair 333Mhz PC2700 DDR | Asus P4P800 Deluxe | 2 x 120GB Maxtor ATA-133| Sapphire ATI 9800pro 128MB | Creative Audigy 2
