December 23, 200520 yr I talked to MS this evening and find that it now costs US$23 to replace a broken CD for FS2004. I just thought I'd pass that along as the subject seems to come up frequently. But if you're in the US and really want to buy a replacement (knowing that it costs more than a new copy of the entire sim bought at the store) you can do so by calling 1-800-MSPRESS.Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. December 23, 200520 yr Wonder how they justify that? Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
December 23, 200520 yr That is why using the CD to start a program that you paid for is way beyond ridiculous, in my opinion....;)
December 23, 200520 yr That's more than I paid for FS2004 in the first place. Glad I don't use the disc!Jim
December 23, 200520 yr My CD was broken by somebody at home (who won't fess up, lol!). I couldn't wait around ordering a replacement so I just purchased another copy of FS9. Madening indeed.
December 23, 200520 yr You might do better buying a brand new set of disks at Walmart etc. Sometimes you can find it cheap now.Eric AND
December 23, 200520 yr That's still about half (or less) what it costs in stores at the moment, a quarter of what it cost on release. If (and I think it does) that includes shipping it's not expensive at all.
December 23, 200520 yr That is bizarre....wonder if this is a new policy. My CD became scratched and I called MS to get a replacement. They sent my ALL four cd's and for free. I was surprised. They didn't ask for proof of purchase or anything.-=MAB=- Mike Brown
December 23, 200520 yr They don't send you a replacement cd, but a brand new set of cd's (4pcs). They don't charge anything for the cd's, only for handling and shipment, and it's delivered at your doorstep. Rune B.
December 23, 200520 yr They don't charge for the CDs themselves, only shipping and packaging.Depending on where you are in relation to the nearest shipment/handling center that cost can vary from next to nothing to something like what the OP mentioned.
