February 8, 20179 yr "Outside of the route...no" Routes must be very wide then, because disabling scenery in those areas of the UK that I will not see as I fly around this region definitely does make a difference to VAS usage. Now, this may simply be a photoscenery issue (I use complete photoscenery coverage for the British Isles and Republic of Ireland), but it is still relevant. February 8, 20179 yr I never disable ANYTHING in scenery library (220+ entries). In SIMstarter I only disable unused dlls. In P3Dv3.3.5 VAS recovers pretty well. So flying say from FlyTampa EHAM to UK2000 EGLL over UK2000 EGLC I'm doing quite well in FSL320X with reasonable FTX Vector, OLC, 6 layers of clouds in AS16/ASCA/TOGA + their DXS textures, with 100AI limiter in FSUIPC, LOD 5.5, scenery complexity @dense, vegetation @dense, autogen buildings @nornal. April 13, 20179 yr I do the same thing...Saves the frustration of never getting to where you are going. Also relaxing some of the sliders....Smooth as ice
July 22, 20196 yr Hi, is this still a thing to do with the current P3D v4.5 build? I recently upgraded from FSXSE and I was used to disabling scenery outside my flight zone but is this still a viable effect in v4.5? Ashwant Gonesh
July 22, 20196 yr It is no longer a VAS issue.. but you can get scenery loading pauses if you have lots of inactive scenery enabled. Bert
