Best external frame limiter?

Featured Replies

Goodmorning everybody!

I switched to P3D for good now. It runs fairly smooth now. I lowered some settings and with the standard planes I get 40-60 fps.

But now the stutters are coming back :(

I'm using unlimited fps with vsync and triple buffering now.

I've read that an external frame limiter can help, but those posts are from 2012/2013...

What do you guys recommend? Radeonpro or something else?

Maybe some tips for some extra smoothness?

30fps is all I need...

Thanks!

Tried them all .

Imho DXTory's limiter is the best.

Thanks man! I tried it just now for about 15 minutes and it works great! Just what I needed

Too bad it doesn't work with ReShade

I´ve also tested a lot of external frame rate limiters, but ended up using the Nvidia one, at 30,5FPS lock, and the stutters are gone. I also use the 1/2 refresh rate VSYNC option - it´s a bit smoother than FastSync, but with a bit more input lag. I´ve set my internal limiter at 31fps. VSYNC needs to be set ON in P3D for it to work.

You could also adjust the TextureMaxLoad parameter in the .cfg to further limit the stutters/long frames. More info on how to tune it here: Tuning Guide

Better than 30mHz refresh sync Gerard?   Hard to beat zero stutters & total fluidity which is what I'm seeing when the total load is not sufficient to drive frame rate below 30.  Could be a different limiter might help by setting the rate down to 24 or so in the hopes of not getting into the sub-30 zone.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but with the fake full screen P3D is using I thought any external frame limiter was useless???

the nvidia 1/2 refresh tweak that works so good in FSX has almost/no effect in P3D...
