February 20, 20179 yr Author Could you please write down the addons you are using? Would be nice :-) 80 GB for CA alone... I guess I need a new SSD for XP 11 -.- For Orthoscenery you do not really need SSD. A 5TB HDD like this onew for $150 works fine. Then just use a free program like junction link magic to sync the XP custom scenery folder to the new drive. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013JPLKQK/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER The free addons I am using and happy with are; XRASS http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/36360-x-raas-runway-awareness-and-advisory-system/ Realistic SkyColors 2.0 http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/21803-realistic-skycolors-for-x-plane-10/ (not not using xEnviro yet, so using these sky texture plugins for now until xEnviro becomes more/ better developed). Better Sky 1.12 http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/36067-better-sky/ Better lights http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/36314-better-lights/ GBPRO - for UK scenery http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/34232-gb-pro-v2-detailed-vfr-scenery-for-great-britain/#comment-209228 Airports - anything by MisterX, ISDG and I like KRIC http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/30588-kric-richmond-international-airport/ The best airport scenery I have seen in XP though is FlyTampa Dubai for FS9, converted to use in XP. It transfers pretty well, other than some manual work needed for the night lighting. But it looks amazing, way better than in P3D. Thomas Rasmassen has tutorial videos for converting FSX/ P3D scenery and there are threads on the .org forum where people put their feedback about conversions - http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/forums/topic/86829-msfs-payware-and-conversion-results-2-of-2/ . I also like EFASS as an EFB to generate simple and quick flight plans and view maps of airports and enroute while flying.
February 20, 20179 yr I flew over LA for the first time in XP11 last night, coming in from San Fran and was not pleased to find 12 FPS looking east over the airport with High autogen settings in a modified default 737- What are you running for system ram I have 32gig - I dont have a problem flying around LA area Rich Sennett
February 20, 20179 yr Thanks for the list :-) Just figuring out at the moment what I need to start my XP 11 career.
February 20, 20179 yr What are you running for system ram I have 32gig - I dont have a problem flying around LA area I swear to God, this is the first time I hear that someone has 32G of RAM. Do you really need it, does your X-Plane really uses it all ? Is this game so demanding ? Also, I agree... 80G for just a California is a little bit over the top. My whole addon scenery, plus ORBX folder in P3D is 73G big. FreeMeshX Global & P3D Tweak Assistant (PTA) plus a bit of orbx magic
February 20, 20179 yr I swear to God, this is the first time I hear that someone has 32G of RAM. Do you really need it, does your X-Plane really uses it all ? Is this game so demanding ? Of course it does its a 64bit program - you guys really need to do your home work  and watch all the P3D 64bit users running out to buy more ram By the way more inside info you need a professional and up version of Windows to use more than 16 gig of ram https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa366778(v=vs.85).aspx Rich Sennett
February 20, 20179 yr By the way more inside info you need a professional and up version of Windows to use more than 16 gig of ram Hmm... It says: Windows 10 Home 4 GB 128GB Are you sure about that?
