It speeds up the loading time, but not FPS increase. And I believed it reduces lots of stutters if you try to load heavy scenery.

For me it worth it so I bought 500GB SSD for my FSX.

As mentioned, much faster load times.  Also, if you fly low and fast or use a lot of photoreal scenery, which drives a lot of terrain/texture loading, it can help eliminate the blurries. 


Noise and power are also water-cooled sim PC also uses SSDs for the OS and P3D/FSX (and a 4TB HDD for bulk storage that spins down when not in use).  It's eerily silent when running.
