>Actually, the people questioning the February release simply>believed the statement made by Microsoft themselves as posted>by Francois Dumas on Simflight. There was no "assumption" at>all on their part, but only on yours... your assumption being>that PC Gamer does not release mistakes, but Microsoft does.>Which was a very silly assumption to begin with.>sorry but this is just flat out wrong. Go look at the topics again. it wasn't until the 2nd long post was started, i believe, that simflight came out with that comment regarding a press release, but they never actually included the press release text, they just used their own words, which made me believe they either mistook its meaning, or were mad that they didnt get the news first. The people who were questioning the feb release were the ones who believed they were important enough to look at FSX, and since they heard nothing, it must not be late in the development process

The idea was who to believe? Just because you happened to be "correct" it was still only an assumption on all our parts with really no "proof". You might have believed it strongly but it was only a best guess which again was correct. We should not indulge in personalities here, we all desire the same thing don't we? I hope I did not "offend you" with my reply and I was only looking to make plain that we could not be 100% certain although it's true that I took PC GAMER's artical a little more to heart and in retrospect I have now learned to wait for the horse to speak ;-).[h4]Randy J. I agree Peter,Al: You need to understand that there was a few hundred people in here who also had the same info that Avsim and Simflight had long before they had it. IT'S NO BIG DEAL. Understand one thing: There is a new level of commitment by MS and the developer community and the general community as a whole. It started many months ago. The entire community is going to be united as 1 on this next version. You have seen this mentioned before in blogs.Having said that I suggest that a new level of professionalism in all these sites as we move foward. In other words, we need to get our stuff together and do it quick. Simflight posted it first because they were available at the time and did do their due diligence. I'm not defending anyone here because Avsim did the exact same thing but I believe they had staff members who were out of town so their news was posted later. The fact of the matter is I do like Francois and Tom, and frankly I would like to see everyone together again. That's sounds naive I know.Everyone needs to quit all this stupid bickering between the boards and members. That goes for everyone. Al, you need to quit slamming people who do actually know what the heck is going on, ok?I'm trying to bring somne common sense to the situation here and be unbaised.Call it what you will, but the bottom line is we want everyone to enjoy this new sim coming down the line. WHO CARES how many betas you may or may not have been on in the past, you do NOT know what is going on right this instance, and those that do will let you know when they are allowed to.As usual, thanks for playing.

>>WHATS YOUR PROBLEM?>>Peter>>Everyone was guessing. Because if you had inside info, you couldn't say anything, correct? So since everybody was assuming, don't expect people to believe your word is golden. It isn't an insult, it's the truth. I will believe PC Gamer who was given info and printed it and has to stand by what is printed, rather than somebody on a forum who only believes it cannot be released in feb. because "they" did not hear anything. My comment which you took as an insult was just explaining that you aren't Mr Gates, and if you didn't hear it, that doesn't mean it can't be true

Believing a magazine article that claims inside info is not something I am ashamed of. The simple fact is because those outside who also have inside info, such as what you claim to have, are not supposed to say anything, correct? So if you ARE saying something, then that means you might not have been in the loop in my opinion. Whether or not you are, I have no idea.If you also had this press release info, you could have said something, correct? A press release is ment for you to publish to the general public, there is no such thing as a secret press release.instead of saying "look we got a press release from Microsoft explaining the article was wrong" you all jumped in without even mentioning it "NO WAY will it be done! We have heard nothing about it being in beta!" That doesn't mean anything to me, so sorry if you took that as an insult. You were the one insulting PC Gamer without stating what facts you had, we were just supposed to take your word for it, because you got a phone call from Mr Gates or something... sorry to burst your bubble but I expected Microsoft to burn the people they worked with in the past just like they do everything, whether or not the mod community is strong, they could have been working with other people from it for all I know.Maybe you will see my side and next time not come off so arrogant and know it all when explaining why a published article is wrong.

AlexI have been involved in various flight simming projects for a long long time and was lucky enough to be asked to beta a previous version of MSFS.I am also an ATPL flying citations and soon to start on an HS125 800XP.I nearly gave up flightsimmimg a while back because I was fed up with the time it was taking out of my life and the damage it was doing to my personal life so I can assure you I am well past any sense of self importance or self glorification.Frankly there are far more important things in life than the petty squables over meaningless topics like this. You almost demanded that FSX was going to be released in Feb and then made assumptions about beta testing MSFS which I knew to be way off the mark of reality. You then attacked anyone who dared challenge your assumption.I was not prepared to discuss the internal workings of a MSFS Beta as that isnt my right but I was pretty well sure there would not be a feb release from my previous experience. It isnt Rocket science or insider information but PLAIN common sense.Whether I am asked to beta another version of MSFS is not my business but the people who create our simulation and it is their choice whether I or anyone else can be of any assistance to them.Maybe if you read through your own responses to people you may realise who is being arrogant but frankly it isnt that important.Peter

You're welcome Bill, but tdragger is Mike...:)Cheers,Jason

It's not that MS FS team would put out a fsim that would choke the latest system. Its mosty likely they would put out a sim that would choke the system cause they are not utilizing the latest hardware functionality like multi processor or multithreading (HT) or multi core or networked computers... They are usually behind the hardware curve. Not the other way around.

Alex, puhLEASE! It's already a well-known FACT that from a genetic point of view, us human beings are 98 percent identical with the chimpansee and 50 percent identical with a banana. There really is no need for you to keep showing off the latter.Have a good 2006!Jaap Verduijn.

You cant just run in and claim an article is false and the claim of exclusive is wrong without somebody questioning you.

Thanks for the useless personal insult. I suggest you either respond to my comments or keep them to yourself
