January 4, 200620 yr Just wondering what some people consider must have add-ons for FS2004? things maybe like Active Camera, Active Sky, differnet aircraft, etc... I like flying C-172 for real world practice, but haven't found a really good one yet with a really nice VC that everything works in..
January 4, 200620 yr As I don't take pictures that much I don't have any of those programs. When I do take a picture I just use Print Screep and then Past in Paint. :)
January 4, 200620 yr Mr SqualeTake my advice and buy the following:Flight1 C172 Active CameraActive SkyThose three programmes are absolutely essential in my book.Real weather, a perfect Cessna (with excellent VC) and a neat little programme that lets you look around with your mouse.Job done!Ian PS - in reply to your earlier post: there IS a new version of FS coming later this year and it's going to be rather good.:)
January 4, 200620 yr Ditto on Active Camera and Active Sky 6.Not to be missed.

Jason CYOO - Formerly MYNN[br /]General Aviation Fan[br]P4 3,2Ghz, 1GB Ram, FX5900 128MB, XP SP2.[br /][br /] J R (Jason R MYNN) General Aviation Nut FSEconomy Pilot

January 4, 200620 yr Agreed with anything, but the CH yoke. I had it and sold it after a few weeks, because it handles worse and is designed more poorly than any $10 joystick and is certainly not worth $120.Unfortunately, it's the only game in town, because more high-quality solutions will come into the $300+ dollar range.Pat
January 4, 200620 yr well I had both the usb ch yoke and pedals, thought they were garbage and sold them on ebay. I now have the Saitek Cyborg joystick and like it a lot.I have a friend who has Active Sky 6 and he was showing it to me, what I don't understand about it is, do you need to start this program up BEFORE you start FS9? how does the program know to update the weather in FS9? because in my FS9 i have the weather settings set to download weather every 15 minutes... so I just don't understand how you can have ANOTHER weather program..then the other big concern is that I do about 95% of my flying using the VATSIM network and SquawkBox 3. Now I know that VATSIM downloads it's own weather when you are connected to it, so how does this VATSIM weather compete with the Active Sky 6 weather? like which weather will you actually be using? Thanks
January 4, 200620 yr I am still waiting for a Yoke thats linked to a Trim wheel of reasonable size (atleast 5-6" in diameter).a decent Rudder that would have some resistance (not somthing I can operate with my toes) like the real thing. Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
January 4, 200620 yr Active Sky has an option to use VATSIM weather in the options menu. You usually start Active Sky before FS9. Active Sky will download the weather from it's weather servers (which in return obtain the lastest real-life METARS) and will update/copy your weather textures in FS9 and ultimately update all weather settings for FS9. All of that has nothing to do with the weather in FS9 - they're totally seperate.Hope this helps,Pat
January 4, 200620 yr >would you guys say Active Camera or TrackIR Pro 4 is better? I would say that Active Camera is a better developer tool whereas TrackIR does it like real life. IMO both are needed.
Randy J.
