January 8, 200620 yr Does anybode know something about the ITVV videos that is sold on simmarket.com for Euro 30 or 40 for Concorde. If so do they give good insight into how the planes are flown etc?I have already one DVD video for the Piper Meridian but I found that somewhat disappointing. Things happened fast and much needed better explanations. Maybe the ITVV is better investments or?
January 9, 200620 yr I Have a couple ITVV Videos, the Concorde DVD and Virgin Atlantic 747-400, both give excellent insight on the operations of the aircraft, especially the Concorde DVD, it's fantastic.
January 9, 200620 yr I've only got VHS copies of their B747-200, B747-400, B777-200 and A320 Sim, but I love them all. They are very imformative, showing all the systems in depth at times. I do feel that they are a bit expensive, but thats because almost everything is with this type of specialist production. Its a shame they don't make them any more, they really had something good developing. Alaister Kay
January 9, 200620 yr the ITVV series (espcially the ones that your talking about) are the most comprehensive and in depth series available, anywhere - full stop.I have a selection from several different sources that provide these type of vids, with the exception of the ITVV ones, I may ebay the whole batch of 'em for about $10 - they are almost usless. January 9, 200620 yr These are good. I have Cathay 747-400 Kai Tak (superb), and the Aussie one - Virgin Blue. Very good productions. Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
January 9, 200620 yr Have the Concorde one. Has a lot of information on how they fly the plane. And witch procedures they use.Wouter
January 9, 200620 yr Very high quality productions. Not like some of the wobbly cam hoem movie rubbish that is out there.
January 9, 200620 yr ITVV B 767 Gatwick-Orlando - this one is a must have in my opinion!I dont even remember how many times i was watching it (well still watching from time to time)and how helpfull it was when I've started to fly with the greatest Level D 767.Recommended!Greetz
January 9, 200620 yr I have all the ITVV DVDs. Generally speaking they are very good. The earlier ones such as the two Cathay titles (747 and 777) aren't up to the standard of the later titles. I also think the Inter European A320 DVD was let down by some very distracting shakey hand held camera work. The ones marketed as the "Platinum Collection" are all very good, with plenty of different cameras in the flight deck and commentry from the pilots. The Concorde DVD is definitely the best of the lot. You get two DVDs the first one covers the outbound flight LHR-JFK and has a great introduction to the aircraft by the captain and walkaround with the flight engineer. The second DVD with the return flight has a good deal covering the flight planning. The commentry from the flight crew throughout is excellent, as is the camera work. It's truly a fascinating DVD for any enthusiast to watch.I also think the Virgin 747-400 and 747-200 titles were great, as were the Go Fly 737-300 and Airtours A330-200.The DVDs are worth getting if you are an enthusiast and want to see more of how it's really done. Just be aware the early titles aren't up to the same standards as the later ones. Nick
January 9, 200620 yr I'm defenitely interested in trying out one of these. Question is which one? The best solution would be to get one that describes a plane that has corrresponding god addon plane for FS9. I also noticed that the running time differs much along them and Concorde being significantly longet than the other. One question is it possible to have subtitles?
January 9, 200620 yr If you got PMDG 747 get ITVV 747 Cathay Pacific Heathrow-Hong Kong or get Boeing 767 Gatwick-Orlando for your Level D 767:) - im sure you wont be disappointed!
January 9, 200620 yr I find the Airbus ones to be very good (I wonder why that might be). In general choose the ones marked Platinum Collection as the multiple camera work and audible ATC is a big improvement over the earlier issues.>I also think the Inter European A320 DVD was let down by some very distracting shakey hand held camera workLol, no the runway at Birmingham really is that bumpy.Rob Elliott, EGPE InvernessPSS Airbus Support andAirbus Fleet Training Captain, British Airways Virtual [email protected]http://www.speedbirdonline.co.uk/airbus.htmlhttp://www.bavirtual.co.uk
January 9, 200620 yr Hiya.I was looking at getting the 767 to add to my collection, but it didn't appear to be a "Platinum" edition, so I questioned it's quality (for want of a better word).Would I be wrong to do this? I got the impression that only the Platinum versions were worth the not inconsiderable cost.CheersTim
January 9, 200620 yr >If you got PMDG 747 get ITVV 747 Cathay Pacific Heathrow-Hong>Kong or get Boeing 767 Gatwick-Orlando for your Level D 767:)>- im sure you wont be disappointed!I got neither of these. I got PMDG 737/800,900 and DF727. I findthe following interesting and worth considering a buy1) RFP 747-200 which would make the 747-200 DVD interesting (but only 112 minutes)2) The F1 Super 80 which could make the MD11 DVD a choice (183 min) maybe a similar plane.3) and also the Level D 767 and its ITVV DVD4) maybe a Concorde combination. Is it the very long running time of 5 hours that makes it best or also other factors?
January 9, 200620 yr Lol, I suppose the shaking camera can be forgiven then - the two things that really stick in my mind from the A320 DVD are the excellent explanation of the Airbus' envelope protection, and the shaking camera as the aircraft was taking off. Nick
