April 22, 20179 yr The Honeywell one I have installed sucks. It sets speeds at 458 IAS for my cruising altitude, that's WAY to fast, causing overspeed. The Honeywell seems to not understand IAS and TAS at high alititudes.
April 22, 20179 yr Administrators Freeware ones? Probably not! Payware if you want one that works! April 22, 20179 yr Not free but ISG make a good one adaptable to a large range of aircraft and is reasonably priced - it is used a lot in aircraft mods in the Avsim Forums. http://secure.simmarket.com/ernie-alston-integrated-simavionics-group-1-(isg1).phtml
April 22, 20179 yr Commercial Member I would just use a payware aircraft.... FAR BETTER and you'll never have the integration with a freeware CDU/FMC than you do with a payware model. Best wishes. April 22, 20179 yr The freeware honeywell erroneously reads the cruise speed instead of the maximum indicated airspeed. You can simply lower the number in the aircraft.cfg and the fmc will now read the correct value. If you look at the airspeed indicator, you will see that the maximum speed is always lower than cruise speed. tony
April 23, 20179 yr I don't use that Honeywell gauge anymore but when I did I changed the line in fmc.xml that looked like this: (A:DESIGN SPEED VC,knots) (>L:fmcBendixGA_CruzAirspeed) to this:(A:AIRSPEED BARBER POLE,knots) 20 - (>L:fmcBendixGA_CruzAirspeed) Barry Friedman
April 23, 20179 yr If the smaller Airbuses are your thing, these are free and come with a working FMC: https://library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=fsx&SearchTerm=francois+dore&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View Regarding the Honeywell FMC and to follow Barry's approach for fixing the cruise speed, this code will convert the fixed cruise TAS from the aircraft.cfg to IAS based on flightplan altitude: (A:DESIGN SPEED VC, knots) (C:fs9gps:FlightPlanCruisingAltitude, feet) 1000 / 0.018 * 1 + / (>L:fmcBendixGA_CruzAirspeed) 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days
