I corrected the top few errors ( was obvious when I seen it ) now It freezes on the startup splash logo!!

I tried disabling the Effect folder I then get no error log but still a freeze.

Ill keep trying, its probably something silly I  am missing

error 0 and error 1 are because you need the element <Name>...</Name> with that scenery entry.  yes yes I know it says the TITLE argument is mandatory :p

error 2 is because your category is specified as "3D Scenery", which isnt valid.  Leave it just as 'Scenery'

error 3 is because of the same reason.  Should just be Scenery as well :)

Make sure all scenery category entries have the name specified or scenery will not be recognised.  

 

all other content errors do not relate to your add-on.xml :)

I think I am on  a roll now !!,  after seeing the log it was sot of obvious ( didn't know about the log though).

Isle of man seems prefect, isles of Scilly looking good I have missing textures & elevation problems at the airport , but I think that is because I have not included the textures folder from ES that usually gets added to root P3d as yet and the scenery world folder, ( not sure how these folders will pan out as they are meant to be in the P3d root)

I will play some more tomorrow .

yes, your textures diagnosis is probably correct, and yes there is an elevation correction file for St Marys that originally went in scenery/world/scenery when the scenery was released.  Now you should be able to address that through add-on.xml - I'll maybe look at Scilly Isles over the weekend...

Just too bad that you can't re-download these Earth Simulations sceneries! They really were excellent.

You can still buy the DVD versions online from some stores. With a bit of fiddling, I managed to get my ES sceneries installed from DVD into P3D.

It is sadly unavailable anywhere now.

Even if you got a copy it was only compatible with P3D2.5 and so you'd need to do a fair bit of manual hacking to get it to work....

Darren will obviously have his reasons but I am surprised he didn't sell the rights to his wonderful scenery to a third party who could of then developed it to work hassle free in P3D v4  .....

Thanks Kevin. I am very sad about this. Still I wish they will be back in business. The golden time has come again for flight sim with the upgrade to the 64 bit architecture. ES has made the most beautiful and accurate scenery in any platform and they have not been surpassed by now. This property should not be wasted and forgotten. They should shine even brighter today and in the future.
