I'm scratching my head about this. I have both V3 & V4 installed on this system

I have MT6 in it's own location and I've installed it in both V3 & V4 - settings are the same - about 25%

Start V3 my default flight at KBUR - about 6 Southwest 737 AI at the gates next to me. Shut down V3

Start V4 - same default - same time - anywhere from 0 -2 Southwest 737 next to me.

I'm seeing AI in v4 just not as many as in v3 with the same settings

Any thoughts?

I wonder if some of their 737 models are old FS9 models and not showing?  I am not using MT6 but when I was attempting to use some of my own schedules in V4 I had invisible aircraft at the gate and taxing, etc. They actually were displaying a label which is how I actually knew they were there:blink:

I wondered about that but I believe all the models being displayed are the same, they just draw it 6 times, etc. Same logo, size, color etc in both sims.

I'd understand it better if NO AI showed.

Strange.

Is there a difference between the number of Ai that appear and the number of AI flights on the list that appears when right-clicking the screen when inflight and then selecting AI traffic? I noticed that some flights on that list are invisible, presumably because of obsolete models.

Tracked it down. I have Traffic Limiter turned on in FSUIPC. For whatever reason, the same setting in V3 doesn't show much in V4. If I turn it off in V4 I see the right amount of traffic. I posted on Pete's forum - let' see if he has an idea when he gets back from holiday.

Frame Rate setting Vic? Maybe your fps are a little lower in V4. The Traffic Limiter doesn't kick in at all, unless the frame rate goes below the specified value in the Traffic Limiter settings.

Or maybe v3 and v4 ai traffic alghoritm works different between the two versions. Who knows if LM worked on that. (I know, maybe a long shot here)

I lock at 20 and this is just sitting at the gate. It's possible v3 and v4 handle AI differently but I doubt AI would have been a priority with LM.

I'm hoping when he returns, Pete can shed some light on the subject. It's also possible that FSUIPC5 's traffic limiter isn't fully implemented, etc.

The FSUIPC 5 limiter works okay for me in V4 but that doesn't mean anything. One thing that bothers me about both FSUIPC's  and the UT products' frame  rate targets is what frame rate is it that they are using to trigger zapping AI aircraft?

There are three possibilities, the first two being the instantaneous and average FPS provided by the sim itself. The third possibility is that the add-on uses the sim's instantaneous frame rate and does its own moving average. All those three choices could cause different behavior depending on the sim version.

Offhand I don't remember seeing anything in the FSUIPC log file that relates to the traffic limiter's details. But a SimConnect  log might help Pete out when he returns.
