But as you have read in this thread many users have said its quite good. so if you dont mind if it doesnt work when you have no internet than i would say go for it. I've just remembered I can configure my smartphone to act as a gateway to t'internet. I've used this for AS16 but was a little wary as I didn't know how much data it would download and my monthly allowance is only 500Mb. The actual usage was only 20Mb or so. I'm more concerned about what data is being sent back to the CP servers. Is it just to check the licence is valid so just a few hundred bytes is used or is it a continuous stream of data which would be of concern not just for what is being sent but the amount of data over several hours. Some clarification would be appreciated. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 9, 20178 yr Author Moderator One other question. I intend to use my GoFlight P8 module (buttons) to assign views to. Can I assume this will be possible with ChasePlane? I have seen a drop-down showing various items of hardware that can be used but no-one has used a GoFlight module on the videos I've seen. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 9, 20178 yr Commercial Member ChasePlane will use around 3Mb of data per session For the hardware, if they are seen as DirectInput or XInput devices, they can be used with ChasePlane. Keven Menard Technical Director, //42.

Thanks Keven. That's reasonable and having watched another YT video this morning I now understand why it requires permanent internet connection. It seems user settings are held remotely, not on the PC. I do hope you will consider making this an option rather than mandatory. Even the best servers in the world can be attacked and the prospect of no CP owners being able to use the product should that happen doesn't bear thinking about. Regarding a GoFlight unit FSUIPC sees it as a device so hopefully CP will too. Ray (Cheshire, England). That's also my hope, sometimes I don't have a network access and this tendency to have everything connected permanently makes it very difficult. Regarding the original question, and I'm sorry if it has already been said or hinted, seeing your requirements and questions I would definitely advise Chaseplane, and strongly advise against EzDOK. I've had the latter for more than 2 years, and the author is obviously not interested in giving any form of support, or future updates. He's just interested in making quick money by pushing an application then forgetting all about it. You shouldn't take my word for it, check around, there are plenty of similar statements (even from famous youtubers). With Chaseplane, you can see that there are regular updates, that the author is interested in what he's doing and communicates very often with the community. And of course, the features made more sense than EzDOK from day one ;) Tom Ross System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals

The CP interface is nice and learning is easy. Can't ask for much more really. I did consider EzyDock but the interface always put me off. Ray (Cheshire, England). I like the product especially its ease in setting up views.I haven't tried EzDok so can't compare. It's still in beta of course so there may be some things that still need ironing out. But for a beta it seems stable and intuitive. I have assigned all the outside views to a single key so pressing that repeatedly will cycle through them. Handy if you don't have a lot of spare key combos. The downside is the need for an internet connection for it to work. The author has agreed to introduce an off-line mode and once that's available I will probably buy. Ray (Cheshire, England).
